@leanneb68 It’s not just me then!
Henry says when Chelsea eventually passes I’ll be able to use them. Banter aimed at both my height and my age!

Trump’s frustration with the U.N is well placed. Just over a week ago Iran (brutal, dangerous, terrorist supporting regime) was elected vice-chair of the U.N Special Committee on the U.N Charter. You seriously couldn’t make this stuff up.

@JohnNicholRAF Seems like yesterday John.
Watching the news at the moment and it’s bringing it all back. I’ll be raising a glass to you too tonight. 👍

@OC 1) Yes. Every day. I still hear new songs that excite me and yours is the first voice I hear in the morning - always lifts my mood!
2)Creates a sense of community, shared experience - during lockdown I fell in love with radio again.
3) Talk like you’re talking to a best friend.

RADIO 📻
I need your help.
Giving a speech at an Australian radio conference this week. Before I do, I want to hear from you.
1Do you still listen to radio? If not, what lost you?
2What does radio do that nothing else can?
3One piece of advice for stations and presenters — what would you tell them?
Your answers might end up in the speech. Go.

@Miss_Halimatu I don’t celebrate Eid or Hanukkah, but I totally respect those who do.
Try being more tolerant of non Muslims, it will make you a happier person.
However and whatever you celebrate - have a lovely festive season.

@OC The podcast was amazing Christian - listening in UK having been in Bondi a few months ago. The tone, empathy and pace of you, Pats and the team on such a sad day was incredible. Your Sydney listeners sound as big hearted as the Melburnians I’ve got to know for the last 7yrs.

Thank you Sydney x
Dear Sydney,
What a week to introduce myself
I’m just back after my first week on air in Sydney. Next year my show goes national, and I thought I take a week out of our Christmas holidays to come say hello.
So last Sunday the team and I flew up with a full week planned
Then Bondi happened.
That Sunday night sitting alone in my Airbnb I wondered do I even go on air tomorrow?
I went on anyway hoping that I might be able to help in some small way. I’m so glad I did.
That first morning in the unbearable unbearableness it all, I offered to put messages of hope on the billboards we planned to give away that week. A listener called Shane said Christian keep it simple and say;
“Good on ya, Ahmed”
That’s when I knew I was meant to be here.
and then you let me in.
In the middle of your grief, shock and heartbreak, you kindly welcomed a stranger into your mornings. Some of you had doubts, why wouldn’t you, but you still gave me a chance. You trusted me with your sadness. You let me sit with you while you cried and grieved. And when the moment was right, you let me make you laugh through the darkness.
Another amazing listener Brad wrote to me sharing his experience with his wife donating blood in Parramatta. How the queues stretched outside for an hour and a half. In that line with Arabic families, Indian families, Korean families, Aussie tradies, young women in active wear and executives. An elderly Jewish couple who couldn’t donate at Bondi had driven across the city to try again. A police officer waited quietly and when Brad asked how he was travelling, he said softly the Rabbi who died was our chaplain.
when that officer was told he’d have to return at 7 am the next day he simply replied no problem. See you then.
Brad’s last line was; “everyone was waiting to be part of the solution”
I came to Sydney to introduce myself but what happened was Sydney introduced itself to me, sharing your kindness, heart and beauty.
I came here a stranger and I feel like I’ve made new friends. I cannot wait to see you all in 2026
In love and thanks
Christian x

Terrible situation with fire damage at Penarth rugby club which is at the heart of the community in Wales - if you are a rugby person and can find a little bit to add to their fundraiser to rebuild in these tough times you’ll be doing doing a lot of good for the area
Thanks ❤️

@MrNickKnowles Thanks Nick! Could you share our fundraiser too? crowdfunder.co.uk/p/qr/jyVRmNEy?…

@MVZaGoGo I have this gig on vinyl. Second best live album I own.
Best? Bruce and the E Street Band - Hammersmith Odeon 1975.

@BlueJet911 @MrNickKnowles If you are going to insult him then at least get your spelling right.

If your perception is that that tackle was marginally late, you have never played rugby…or you are lying. Furthermore this tackle was very high, higher, impossible. You don’t have any idea of the game. You could probably are a TV champion just watching but never ever played the game. If you did so, you are a fucking lier.
English

Marginally late, not high or especially violent
Equally late hits on Ford during the game
Worthy of a penalty nothing more Unfortunate he was injured - watching him land I can’t see how
The usual suspects upset

@Hunsy1969 @ABCFRY Seen them a few times with the orchestra and it’s a wonderful night out. A few of the 80’s stars can’t hit their vocal lines these days but @ABCFRY has still got the skills!
English

All of my Heart is of my all time favourite tunes, performed as well last night as it was four decades ago by wonderful Martin Fry @ABCFRY

@OC Looks like your week locked away in a seedy motel charged by the hour has come up trumps then Christian. 😁
