A railway staff member allegedly tried to sit on another passenger’s reserved seat inside a train from Mumbai to Amritsar. When the actual seat owner refused to give up the seat, the staff member reportedly said, “This is my train… I work for the Railways. How can you stop me from sitting here?” After the argument escalated, he allegedly pulled the emergency chain and declared, “The train will not move until you allow me to sit.” Soon, the RPF arrived at the spot. But instead of taking action against the chain pulling, the situation reportedly took a different turn. The staff member introduced himself, the chain was fixed, the train was allowed to move again… and he eventually sat on the same seat. What shocked many people even more was what happened next. The staff member allegedly looked at the passenger and said, “Now say something.” The passenger stayed silent… probably because even the authorities present did not object. According to railway rules, unnecessary chain pulling can lead to penalties and strict action. That’s why many people online are now questioning whether power and position should be used like this against ordinary passengers. What do you think? Her name was Shubha Shankaranarayan. She was 21 years old, a law student in Bengaluru. She was in a relationship with Arun Varma, her 19 year old college junior. Her father did not approve and arranged her engagement to someone else. On November 30, 2003, Shubha got engaged to B.V. Girish, a 27 year old software engineer. His family celebrated. His future seemed set. Three days later, Shubha called Girish and suggested they spend some time together before the wedding. She proposed dinner and then a stop near HAL Airport to watch planes take off from the viewpoint on Inner Ring Road. He agreed. While Girish stood looking at the runway, three men attacked him from behind with a motorcycle shock absorber. Shubha stood nearby and screamed at the attackers to stop, pretending to be shocked. Girish suffered severe head injuries. He died in hospital the next morning. His family filed a police complaint. At first, investigators found nothing. Girish had no enemies, and suspicion did not fall on Shubha because the engagement had happened just days earlier. Then police reviewed the engagement video. Shubha appeared unhappy and disinterested throughout. Her expressions did not match someone who had just gotten engaged. Investigators dug deeper. They discovered that Shubha had made 73 phone calls and exchanged numerous messages with Arun Varma on the day of the murder. When confronted with the evidence, she confessed. The murder had been planned even before the engagement. Shubha wanted to be with Arun Varma, so she, Arun, and two hired men planned to kill Girish. Girish had been engaged for just three days. In July 2010, all four were convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment. The Karnataka High Court later upheld the verdict. In 2025, the Supreme Court also upheld all four life sentences. The Supreme Court observed: "Shubha chose a tragic and unacceptable route to address her personal issues, which led to the loss of a young and innocent life." He went to watch planes take off with his fiancee. He never came home. Repost this. Some stories should never disappear.

Her name was Madhubala. She was born Mumtaz Jehan Begum on February 14 1933 in Delhi. Valentine's Day. Her father Ataullah Khan had lost his job and the family had eleven children and very little money. When she was eight years old they moved to Bombay. She started acting at nine years old to feed her family. By the time she was 18 she was the highest paid actress in India. Life magazine photographed her and called her the biggest star in the world. Hollywood director Frank Capra wanted to cast her in an American film. Her father said no. She carried a secret nobody in the film industry knew. She had been born with a ventricular septal defect. A hole in her heart. In the 1950s there was no surgery available for it. She coughed up blood on film sets and hid it. She fainted between takes and returned to the camera before anyone could ask questions. She kept working for years while quietly dying. In 1951 she fell in love with Dilip Kumar. They worked together across several films and dated for seven years. Her father wanted Dilip to act exclusively in his production company as a condition of marriage. Dilip refused. During a court case in 1957 Dilip testified against her. The relationship ended. She said nothing publicly about it. In 1960 she married actor Kishore Kumar, who knew she had perhaps two years to live. After the wedding they flew to London where doctors confirmed her diagnosis. She spent most of her final years bedridden, breathing through an oxygen mask, watching her own films on a projector at home. She tried to return to work in 1966. She fainted on the first day of filming. The film was cancelled. In 1969 she prepared to direct a film called Farz Aur Ishq. She died before filming could begin. On February 23 1969 Madhubala died of heart failure. She was 36 years old. Nine days after her birthday. Dilip Kumar came to her funeral. She acted in over 70 films. She was the most photographed face in Indian cinema. She earned enough to support her entire family for decades. She spent her last nine years in a bed. She confided to a film historian in her final years, "I can't do anything for anyone. Then why do they love me so much?" Follow for stories India deserves to remember.
