@Ivdown12 @JordanLeandre55 I’ve heard plenty, plenty of people tell me Kenley shouldn’t go in just for the save number 🤷🏻‍♂️🤷🏻‍♂️ so naturally I question Chapman too How does he have 5 gold gloves is he’s so bad at defense then?

@TheMikeMicG @JordanLeandre55 There isn't a strong narrative that those guys will not make the HOF, so I'm not sure at all what you're talking about. Salvy is an above average hitter and a bad defensive catcher. That's why his WAR is so low and why he won't make the HOF

If we are basing HOF inductions on the stats used back in the 50s, we are really regressing as a voter contingent. Salvy has had a very good career, great by the standards of the Royals. Since debuting, he's 14th among Cs in fWAR despite leading the position in GP by over 300.
Mike McG@TheMikeMicG

@JordanLeandre55 Soo World Series mvp, 9x all star, 5x gold glove, 5x silver slugger, and clement award aren’t enough? 300 hr and 1000+ rbi. That’s pretty fucking great for a catcher if you ask me. Him and Yadi are the best in recent history. But yea let’s just go by stats half the HOF didn’t use

@Ivdown12 @JordanLeandre55 When there’s a strong narrative that being in the top all time save leaders doesn’t warrant a HOF spot, I find that pretty equivocal to Perez not getting in. If Salvy wasn’t any good why does he have all the silver sluggers and gold gloves along with WS MVP and a Clemente award

@TheMikeMicG @JordanLeandre55 Chapman and Kenley are definitely getting into the HOF, which has nothing to do with Salvador Perez not being anywhere near a HOF player.

@AlexDevMLB @JordanLeandre55 And hasn’t ABS pretty much cancelled out framing now? You can’t frame a pitch an inch off the plate anymore without it being challenged. And the umps have to be more accurate and accountable now too

@TheMikeMicG @JordanLeandre55 Baseball Reference WAR completely omits framing, which has been an much larger piece of catcher defense after MLB eliminated league-specific umpire pools in 2000 But even if we use that WAR to give Salvy the best shot, he’s still behind JT Realmuto and Russell Martin

@JordanLeandre55 I think basing it solely off war actually really widens the net, especially if we aren’t considering awards. What’s the point of giving them out and making the recognitions then? The awards, what you do for the community and your team, all of that matters too

@TheMikeMicG Well my feeling is that Schalk shouldn't be in the Hall. And adding more undeserving players only makes it worse.

@JordanLeandre55 This is why I hate war. If Schalk is in why not Salvy? Salvy has him beat on everything except games, sb, and OBP. But Salvy isn’t good enough for the HOF with all those awards too? Interesting

@TheMikeMicG This is every HOF catcher. Perez is at 18.6 fWAR so he's two really good years away from even passing Schalk. If we filtered out to *all* catchers, he's 103rd. Tied for 179th in batting average, tied for 461st in OBP, but tied for 33rd in SLG.

@JordanLeandre55 I’m surprised you’re on board with Chappy and Jansen because they’d only be there for strikeout and save numbers respectively. Most say they aren’t HOF which is why war is not always the answer.

@TheMikeMicG The average fWAR of a catcher in the Hall of Fame is 51.9 and the worst one there is Ray Schalk at 22.6 (which is still higher than Salvy). 8 HOF relievers have at least 750 relief innings. The average fWAR there is 25.5. Chapman: 26.3 Jansen: 25.5 Not a fair comp at all.

@SamuelAdams_12 The rating system makes no sense anymore. Nothing does. How does my RTTS player have plate discipline but when I play other modes the players don’t have it? Why is reaction directional for real players but not in RTTS? So much of this game just doesn’t make sense anymore

Anyone wanna explain how this Shohei Ohtani is a 94 overall? Does his name add 5 overall points to him? Or did SDS secretly give him 474 durability?

This was Chevron’s response to the left’s stickers blaming President Trump. Chevron is letting customers know in California that it’s not Donald Trump causing the insane gas prices in the state, it’s California Democrats. Chevron just added these new signs to their pumps, educating customers, “Sacramento policies did this. Now you pay more.” “California politicians are choosing foreign oil and fuels over local jobs and lower costs.” Companies willing to educate the public and tell the truth. It’s Gavin Newsom and Democrat policies causing a $6.30+ average cost per gallon in California.
Tony Seruga@TonySeruga

Homeless meth/crack addicts are placing these labels all over Southern California gas stations pumps. After 4 days of interviewing a number of these ‘day workers’, verifying daily cash to a reloadable prepaid debit card with VISA Network, my retired FBI forensic accountant followed the breadcrumbs in an effort to identify who was funding the cards, ultimately leading to Arabella Advisors Network via half a dozen LLCs.

I didn’t vote for Donald Trump because I thought he was flawless. I voted because I thought he was the last off-ramp. The lesser of two evils… with a promise that actually meant something. No new wars. End the old ones. Put America First. That message hit hard. It felt like a reset. But look around now. Conflicts aren’t ending — they’re multiplying. Billions are still pouring overseas. Military support keeps expanding into places most Americans can’t even point to on a map. And back home? People are drowning quietly. Groceries cost more every week. Families are hanging on by a thread. Veterans — the ones who already gave everything — are still sleeping on the streets. Debt is crushing. Stress is everywhere. So I keep coming back to one question: What happened to America First? Because this doesn’t feel like it. This feels like the same machine… just repainted. I didn’t vote for global escalation. I didn’t vote to fund the world while Americans fall behind. I voted for peace abroad and stability at home. And right now? That promise feels further away than ever. This isn’t just disappointment anymore. People are starting to wake up.

@ScottPorch1 @MattMcCarthy985 Breslow won’t play these guys everyday because of the metrics and analytics with matchups and everything 💀

@MattMcCarthy985 I can see Mayer and Anthony having trajectories where it takes a full year of consistent at bats to unlock the slugging. PCA hit .237 with 10 HRs and 13 doubles in 2024 and .247 with 31 HRs and 37 doubles in 2025. A year of playing every day can make a huge difference.

Breslow should be fired immediately for what he’s done to this lineup over the last year, but the problems are much scarier than that. The 5 year plan implemented in 2020 is failing. This core is not good enough. Anthony: hasn’t stayed healthy Mayer: significant questions about whether he can hit. Also has injury concerns. Rafaela: can’t hit consistently. Duran: hasn’t hit since 2024. May never hit again. Casas: hurt. Has barely hit. Campbell: can’t even hit in Worcester. There’s a real chance this group will never succeed.

@MattMcCarthy985 Rafaela is a Gold Gold defense first player with a nice clutch trait in him, just like JBJ. If you’re expecting Ceddy to be a slugger/hit then idk what to tell you. He’s defense first with a bat that’s bonus sometimes. Just like a good catcher. Not everyone *needs* to hit well

I can’t get over how the Sox handled the Varitek situation publicly. Saying you “reassigned” one of the most important players in team history just to save face when you were firing him too is a joke. Former Sox legends are gonna see that and want nothing to do with these guys.
