Is Trump gonna let go of that World Cup and voluntarily give it to Spain?

There’s only one team that have played like they want to win the game, but it’ll probably be the other one that wins on penalties.

@30YearsRed I remember one dodgy occasion at Anfield when a very new Atomic Kitten performed their first single on the centre spot at half time.

This US stuff is definitely gonna infiltrate the prem soon. Can already see the game being played in quarters & Mel C being wheeled out at halftime at the Hill Dickinson during the derby. 😔

Since I'm in the middle of an election campaign, you might think I'd welcome the chance to be interviewed by Laura Kuenssberg, or at least put up one of my colleagues. Unfortunately we are all having our hair done this morning. #bbclaurak

@CrewkerneMan @LouiseMensch Thatcher stripped the country of an estimated £20 billion in market value (in 1980’s valuation) in order to sweeten the privatisation process. Assets were on sold on day 1 for an average 22% profit. The estimated replacement value of assets was 50% more than the sale price.

The fact that Andy Burnham would apparently blame Margaret Thatcher, a Prime Minister who left office 36 years ago, for Britain’s problems shows how utterly bereft of ideas he is. The failures came after Thatcher, during decades in which Burnham himself helped wreck the country.

@IanDarke Have the FA ever known since Ramsey, exactly what type of manager they want? During the 70’s & 80’s a series of mid table managers had a go. They started the foreign coach experiment in the late 90’s and have ended up clutching at different straws, to pacify the media.

Tuchel’s assertion that the semi final loss was down to England’s ‘ DNA’ sounds awfully like him off-loading any blame. And if that is how he feels, why carry on if it is all a problem of the national psyche ? Wasn’t he appointed to change it ?

@mrdanwalker Bravery is shown in many ways, such as admitting when you got things wrong and learning from your mistakes.

Final final thought… It’s not that Tuchel is a bad manager - he isn’t. He got England to within a whisker of a World Cup final and he made some good decisions in other games at this tournament. I don’t think he should be sacked but I do hope, in time, his changes his opinion on having ‘no regrets’. He spoke of ‘bravery’ throughout the tournament and then his team retreated to their own penalty box and gave the best player we may have ever seen space to whip the ball in time and time again. Scaloni after the game… “We smelt blood when England hesitated".

@IanDarke Tuchel HAS to learn from this mistake. It was clear from previous games that Argentina posed a threat right up to the final whistle. His singleminded approach has worked so far, but it can also be detrimental if he doesn’t appreciate where things went wrong.

Don’t want to play the blame game , but World Cups define careers. Tuchel comes out of this one as damaged goods. Tactical calamity is not an exaggeration. This was supposed to be the man on a different sophisticated elite level.

@piersmorgan Ate you saying that you would’ve made the same substitutions at the same time? I would suggest that in doing so, you would’ve shown the same level of naivety of the Argentinian threat as shown late in previous games.

Yes, England were too defensive. But the abuse pouring down on Thomas Tuchel’s head today is ridiculous. He was 5 minutes away from leading us into our first World Cup Final in 60 years. And if we’d hung on, he’d be lauded a hero today by the same people trashing him.

Tuchel said that he thought that the team could play better than they had in the Norway game. It’s a pity that for the last 20 minutes, he never gave them that opportunity.

"Bring it on," screams Alan Shearer, stupidly, after a melee between both sets of players. Argentina's strategy will be to wind up England's players, hoping Bellingham does a Beckham, so we need cool heads.

Dear American friends... This is our Prime Minister @Keir_Starmer who has been forced to stand down as he lost the faith of his own party and the public after 2 years. He moves out this weekend and a new guy moves in ( 24, 900 people voted for him in a small town called Makerfield. We have 70m people in the uk). All these people applauding Starmer wanted him out. This shower of sh*te prefer performative theatre over honesty and authenticity. Please send help! We are scr*wed. 🇬🇧

@beverleyturner @JDVance @SecRubio Could you please remind me Ms Turner, which nation was the original aggressor in the Ukrainian conflict in either 2014 or 2022? Wasn’t it the west as a whole who offered support to Ukraine whilst the incident you refer to appeared to be staged for the benefit of Putin’s optics

Good god, we are being failed by our pathetic leadership. Here is our outgoing pm telling us what a nice person he is because he gave zelensky a hug in front of the public when he'd been booted out of the Oval Office for his lack of gratitude. @JDVance @SecRubio Is this his legacy ?? Being #kind when @POTUS was trying to end the war in Ukraine but getting zero cooperation from Zelensky ??
