First idea: real hot reloading I wonder if you think this is feasible. Would probably need to rearrange some things….
Instead of compiling a full standalone app, we can structure the project as:
Host runner (fixed binary, never changes)
Handles window, run loop, root controllers, IPC back to Nyxian.
Loads our user code as a plugin (dylib / bundle).
User module (what Nyxian recompiles on each change)
Exposes a small API like
id CreateAppInstance(void);
All actual app logic lives here.
Here is what the flow would look like.
1.Edit code in Nyxian.
2.Nyxian compiles it into a new dylib, signs it.
3.Host runner:
dlopen()s the new dylib.
Creates a new app instance from it.
Migrates state from old instance (if you implement that).
Optionally dlclose()s the old dylib (or just leak it for dev sessions).
So our “app” doesn’t die just the logic module is swapped underneath.
Some potential pain:
UIKit objects created by the old module will still be in memory.
We want a central “root controller” that’s owned by the host runner.
The plugin should only configure subviews, not own the top level window hierarchy.
We need a very strict boundary between host and plugin
No global singletons leaking across generations.
No static caches that assume one lifetime.
Given Nyxian is already:
loading Mach-Os,
signing binaries on the fly,
We can just as easily do that for a dylib instead of a full EXE.
And maybe when swift support lands we van build an actual hot reload pipeline!
I think we can safely load Swift frameworks dynamically as long as we obey some rules.

It improves almost everything, still a iPad only build, next day I will fixup phone side of things,

CloneX and Animus collections are currently on their way to be decentralized to ArWeave thanks to @ardriveapp (thank you @BramasPaul for the amazing help!) and should be back online, for an infinite amount of time in few hours. For the curious people, here is what happened: - Cloudflare Pro plan is finishing on the 30th of April - Change of infrastructure has been in discussion since company sunset in December but decision took time to be taken because of internal corpo process (the usual) - Beginning of April the decision to stay on Cloudflare Free was (finally) approved and I started the work to move the infrastructure - Somehow this morning Cloudflare decided to move to the Free plan few days before the end of the contract which also triggered that bug in which Cloudflare refuses to stream images and videos - There is no Cloudflare support available because we're not on US hours (lol) - I hadn't yet decentralized the files and I was counting on doing it in the next few days, other tasks (like SSL certificates) were "more important" to do Tough morning but it'll be back shortly!

The decentralisation of assets will be coming straight after the current Cloudflare changes. Not to worries. This is extremely temporary and should not last long. I am on it but keep in mind that I am the last man standing and therefore I am doing it all myself - give me time.
