To no one's surprise, draft executive order requiring all agencies to transition their digital signatures for high-impact systems and high-value assets to a PQC standard by Dec. 31, 2031, and to use post-quantum cryptography for key establishment by Dec. 31, 2030. Since it's a draft, I wonder if that will be shifted up faster given the latest news?

⚠️ALERT: FT reports that the crypto industry is now bracing for quantum computing threat. Here's the brutal truth nobody in CT wants to hear: Only ~15 crypto projects on Earth are seriously building for quantum. If your favorite coin isn't one of them, you're holding a wallet with a death clock. The list 👇 PROTOCOL-NATIVE QUANTUM RESISTANT (mainnet, today): 🔷 QRL (XMSS, mainnet since 2018) 🔶 Abelian (lattice-based, mainnet 2022) 🔷 Cellframe (Dilithium + Picnic) 🔶 Mochimo (WOTS+, audited by Dr. Hülsing) 🔷 xx Network (David Chaum, PQ BFT consensus) 🔶 Nexus (FALCON + Signature Chains) PQC LIVE IN PRODUCTION (partial): 🔷 Algorand — Falcon state proofs since 2022, first Falcon mainnet tx Nov 2025 (consensus still Ed25519) 🔶 Hedera — SEALSQ QS7001 chip, shipped Nov 2025 ACTIVELY IMPLEMENTING (testnet): 🔷 QANplatform — Dilithium, EVM-compatible testnet 🔶 Tron — QuantumShield hybrid signatures on testnet 🔷 Circle's Arc — USDC-native L1, opt-in Dilithium + Falcon at mainnet (2026) ROADMAP ONLY (still vulnerable today): 🔷 Bitcoin — BIP-360 + BIP-361 (7-year migration) 🔶 Ethereum — $2M PQ team, pq.ethereum .org, 2029 target 🔷 Cardano — IO Research "Vision 2026: Post Quantum Secure" proposal 🔶 Solana — Falcon roadmap (April 2026), Winternitz Vault live 2+ yrs 🔷 Ripple/XRP — 4-phase roadmap, ML-DSA on AlphaNet, 2028 target Not listed = not building = your funds, eventually someone else's. Harvest now, decrypt later.

New paper with Nikai J. & Co in Australia: "LoTRS" 😊 eprint.iacr.org/2026/974 My contribution to this work was mostly with the code artifact, which has both pedantic Python and optimized/parallelized Rust code (both byte-compatible for cross-checking): github.com/lotrs-sig/lotrs

@FutureDies At just 100 TPS, a blockchain will need 11 TB per year to store the full ledger history including the cryptographic transaction signatures; this is excluding validator attestations!

Quantum makes the blockchain trilemma worse. We now got the requirement for: high-performance execution vs conservative post-quantum security vs bounded ledger growth

🚨 INSIGHT: Post-quantum upgrades could cut throughput by 40–50% due to larger transaction data, per BNB Chain report.

there are more than 79 octillion (~2^96) potential valid public keys that could derive the ZERO 0x address or any other address with unknown public key (like P2PKH) in Bitcoin or Ethereum. We'll have fun when functional Quantum computers for Grover + Shor show up :)

BIG BREAKTHROUGH: This could become a huge moment for the future of drug discovery. IBM, Cleveland Clinic, and RIKEN have achieved a major milestone in quantum computing by simulating biologically relevant protein complexes with up to 12,635 atoms. This is the largest quantum hardware simulation of protein chemistry ever performed. The researchers used IBM Quantum Heron processors together with two of the world’s most powerful supercomputers, Fugaku and Miyabi-G. Key breakthroughs: > It simulate protein-ligand chemistry using up to 94 qubits > Modeled complex proteins including T4-Lysozyme and Trypsin in solution > Reached simulations involving 30,000 orbitals > Achieved a 40× increase in system size > Delivered a 210× improvement in accuracy over previous methods 👀! The system combined quantum processors, CPUs, and GPUs in a quantum-centric supercomputing workflow, showing how hybrid computing may transform real-world chemistry and drug discovery. This is another sign that quantum computing is moving beyond theory and beginning to tackle practical scientific problems. We are entering an era where computers don’t just process information. They help humanity understand life at the molecular level. Now quantum computers are simulating the chemistry of life itself, helping scientists explore proteins, molecules, and drug discovery at scales once considered impossible.
