This is manufactured CLICK BAIT This “five missing scientists” narrative doesn’t hold up under scrutiny. The cases being grouped together span different years, circumstances, and outcomes, with only one or two actually missing right now while others are older, unrelated deaths. There’s no verified operational link tying them together beyond broad “scientist” or defense-related backgrounds. What you’re seeing is classic narrative stacking, where separate incidents are bundled to imply a pattern that hasn’t been proven. Follow me if you want to know the truth about world events and understand what they mean.

this is actually insane > be tech guy in australia > adopt cancer riddled rescue dog, months to live > not_going_to_give_you_up.mp4 > pay $3,000 to sequence her tumor DNA > feed it to ChatGPT and AlphaFold > zero background in biology > identify mutated proteins, match them to drug targets > design a custom mRNA cancer vaccine from scratch > genomics professor is “gobsmacked” that some puppy lover did this on his own > need ethics approval to administer it > red tape takes longer than designing the vaccine > 3 months, finally approved > drive 10 hours to get rosie her first injection > tumor halves > coat gets glossy again > dog is alive and happy > professor: “if we can do this for a dog, why aren’t we rolling this out to humans?” one man with a chatbot, and $3,000 just outperformed the entire pharmaceutical discovery pipeline. we are going to cure so many diseases. I dont think people realize how good things are going to get

Göran Kropp hauled all his climbing gear in a trailer, cycling roughly 8,000 miles from Sweden to Nepal. He then solo-climbed Mount Everest without Sherpas or bottled oxygen—before getting back on his bike and riding all the way home to Sweden.

This paragraph by C.S. Lewis, written in 1948, still hits hard: “If we are all going to be destroyed by an atomic bomb, let that bomb when it comes find us doing sensible and human things—praying, working, teaching, reading, listening to music, bathing the children, playing tennis, chatting to our friends over a pint and a game of darts—not huddled together like frightened sheep and thinking about bombs. They may break our bodies (a microbe can do that) but they need not dominate our minds.”

Before you bullish-on-peptides folks inject melanotan, make sure you do a web search to look at some before and after photos…! Here is a case where unless there’s a *real clinical need* I highly recommend you intelligently use sunlight instead.

A single bee can produce 1 tablespoon of honey in its lifetime. 683 bees fly roughly 32,550 miles to gather 5.93 lbs of nectar from about 1,185,000 flowers in order to make one 9.5 oz. jar of honey.

One of the nicest streets I’ve even seen in the world is in quite a humble part of Miami The greatest trick in urban design is just having a shit ton of trees and vegetation. Especially on curb strips / verges / berms It’s magical here

There is no one on earth who wants the recognition less, and there is also no one on earth who deserves the recognition more. I’ve flown alongside Eric for 18yrs. We grew up in Army Aviaton and in the 160th together. We’ve been brand new PIs, BMQs, FMQs, and FLDs together along the way. He is the consummate quiet professional. By the grace of God and the skill of the greatest team on earth he’s still with us. Eric I’m proud to have fought alongside you and even more proud to call you my friend. Nightstalkers Don’t Quit

For the first time in 153 years, the presses go silent. The Boston Globe won’t print a February 24 edition because of Monday’s blizzard. Not in wars. Not in recessions. But this storm just made history. ❄️📰

“This recent West Point graduate is Alix Idrache. He grew up in a slum in Haiti, and he tells the story of how U.S. soldiers were deployed to his neighborhood following the earthquake there several years ago. He says their presence was the first experience of "hope" he recalls in his childhood. He remembers looking at his dad and asking him who the people were that were helping. His dad looked at him and said, "They are American soldiers." He looked back at his father and said, "One day, I will be an American soldier." His father knew the situation in Haiti was unworkable and tried for several years to obtain a visa to come to the United States. After being denied for several years, he was finally granted a spot in Baltimore. He purchased a ticket on a boat for his family and left Haiti. They arrived and Alex, remembering his dream in the slum several years prior, looked for a way to join the U.S. Army. He found a national guard program that allowed him to join the Army in exchange for citizenship. He didn't hesitate. After a series of fortunate occurrences, he was given one of the few spots at West Point for prior enlisted soldiers. Despite his severe lack of formal education, he graduated as an honor graduate (top 5% physically and academically) and the top student in the Physics Department. This picture was taken just prior to tossing his hat in the air, the realization of a dream that began 10 years ago in a slum in Port-au-Prince.”
