Pleased to share our latest work from @MiriamMerad lab @SinaiImmunol, where we try to address the Q: Do tumors alter the epigenetic state of myeloid progenitors in marrow, and are certain aspects of immunosuppressive mono-macrophage fate sealed before they enter the tumor?🧵

@DrCJ_Houldcroft @aero_anna We thank the readers for their scrutiny of our articles: when we get it wrong, the crowdsourcing dynamic of open science means that community feedback helps us to quickly correct the record.

Jesus Christ. This is a short case series, but of the 57 sports supplements they tested: - 23 (40%) didn't contain any of the substances on the label - 28 (49%) had the wrong amount - 6 (11%) had the correct quantity - 7 (12%) had illegal additives jamanetwork.com/journals/jaman…

We conducted a combined analysis of the now 8 trials that studied the effect of BCG vaccine against COVID-19 and other respiratory infections in health care workers and elderly. BCG was associated with a 39% (3-62%) reduction in all-cause mortality #NSEvac nejm.org/doi/full/10.10…

Managing organ transplantation needs some rethinking. In 2018, we started working on putting together the strongest possible team to focus on innate immunity in allograft transplantation. Grateful for @NIAIDFunding’s support, the incredible team & Bram Teunissen’s heavy lifting!
