I've seen a bunch of people crying about how everyone is sexist because people didn't immediately buy Hemomal's cheap kool-aid without questioning anything. Bruh, that's not sexism. That's common sense. Maybe some of you are just too young to remember those times, but the MeToo era is over and people can see through the common bullshit that's being peddled. If anything, it's more of defense mechanism against, lol, the imbalanced power dynamics. Personal story: I had a friend during my teenage years and he made the mistake of putting his dick in crazy. Like, his girlfriend was a certified schizo, official diagnosis and all but she was hot af. We told him not to, but he still did. Fast forward to a year later, she moved in with him, started throwing tantrums, wrecking the apartment over any perceived slight so he did the only thing he could: he broke up with her. Guess what happened? She went to the police and accused him of rape. Bam. Dude gets arrested. Spends a year and a half in the legal swamp until he's found not guilty. Girl obviously walks off scot free without any consenquences of false accusations. The kicker? In the country he lives in, while he's not guilty on record... the record is not expunged. Any time he tried getting a job, the employer could see the accusation and didn't take him in. He literally couldn't find any fucking job that was official and had to survive of below minimum wage for years. So basically... a girl couldn't handle being dumped and ruined a guy's life out of spite. The amount of people with similar stories is fucking staggering. Did everyone forget the Amber Heard and Johnny Depp case? Where the abuser was caught lying to ruin the guy's life? Yeah, people noticed and it's why people are giving such accusations far more scrutiny now because more often than not, they're full of manipulative shit, just like the current one. All the bitching and moaning about power dynamics... well this is a power dynamic too, isn't it? People want to feel safe and that's a given but how can anyone feel safe when literally any conversation and interaction can be taken out of context and used against you? That's a power dynamic too. I wouldn't be surprised if guys in this space are now just outright avoiding having any private interactions with girls. I know I'm one of them by this point. If you come with accusation of ACTUAL wrongdoings beyond the banal relationship drama and petty jealousy, I fucking GUARANTEE that everyone would unanimouisly crucify them... which HAS happened before. I can recall multiple cases where a guy was a legit piece of shit that manipulated and took advantage of people and literally NOBODY defended them and both guys and girls vilified their ass. So keep calling it sexism or whatever and whining. It's honestly just people who don't want to foster an environment with a toxic power dynamic, to use the words all these people love throwing around.

He actually does. The whole movie is about him being shunned/bullied by his friends (who also bullied her) and everyone else. He grows up, develops social anxiety and wants to kill himself because he hates himself that much for the way he treated her. Only not going through with it because he wants to make it up to her, even though they were actual middle schoolers when this occurred. He learns sign language, helps her sister and practically dedicates himself to her, and the entire message is a beautiful one. That you can always atone for what you've done and anyone is capable of change and becoming a better person. How ironic that message is lost on Twitter users.
