Fun fact: S&box supports VR pretty well actually, it's just not given as much of the developers' time yet as the rest of the engine... :)

@s8box If you were wondering why it looks wonky while I'm editing that'll be because it runs at a lower res while moving stuff around to keep it a bit more performant in lieu of wanting to write a whole chunking system

@FMPONE @J_P_C4 @s8box S&box games won't be a completely analogous way to evaluate source 2 as they've had to heavily modify it to make it usable, like in theory it's source 2 but the practical usage of it is much closer to Unity (but better) as opposed to how valve makes games on source 2.

@J_P_C4 The promise of Source 2 was that it would bring us closer to a modelling program inside a level design tool. Source 2 is becoming better and better at that. Until we see actual games being published on the engine (think @s8box ) it will be hard to evaluate it as an engine.

Lattice deformers were a game changer for Splinter, unlocking more organic shape variety. For *decades* on Source engine games, you were stuck manually rotating models or creating entirely new models simply to tweak their shape.

The Sims 4 is now allowing modders to sell their content through an in-game shop and EA takes... 70% of each sale. I think that's way out of line and 40% above the already controversial typical revenue share for platforms. Creators deserve better. ea.com/games/the-sims…
