There is absolutely no justification for selling packet refills of herbs that hold more herb than will fit in a standard jar. Where am I meant to put the rest of it?

People wang on about paintings, furniture, or other visual arts being beautiful. I have never seen beauty in any of it. Mountains? Yes. The ocean? Yes. A storm cloud? Yes. I just don't understand how a physical object created by humans can be beautiful. I've tried for 60 years.

Sad that about Almost Famous. Bricks and mortar food biz is fucked eh. Especially city centre. Just impossible. I hope the landlords will all be happy when it’s just offices and nowhere to eat.

@anon_opin Yup. OnDemand and Streaming killed TV years ago. Gone are times when everyone watched the same thing at same time. Can't even talk about shows now. "Did you see..." "Shutup! I've not watched last week's yet!" It's bollox.

Although it was novel when it started, and seemed like a good idea, dumping a whole TV show at once on streaming is a worse experience than weekly episodes. You're basically releasing 10 hour film that feels like an obligation rather than something to look forward to.

@anon_opin Yeah. But he fooled (the young me) for years, thinking his Hootenanny was actually shot on New Years Eve! I was amazed at how all these famous people would 'give up' their New Years Eve to be there. Then find it's shot a month earlier... Twat!

Why so much hate for Jools Holland? Hands up here who has championed the broadcasting of fantastic live music across multiple genres for decades? None of you.

Bring back audience sitcom. The presence of an audience forces both the writers and performers to actually make it funny. Some of these single-camera things can go an entire episode without anything resembling a joke.

I am an actor in a very popular British soap opera. Other than one time, I have never watched myself on TV. It just feels really awkward. And it's weird hearing my own voice on the screen.

I live in the New Forest. Every Christmas for the last 32 years I have bought a live 6 foot tree and for the last 31 years I have replanted them in a quite isolated area in the New Year. Will soon be a 32 tree copse that I can see on Google maps.

@Brick_Cop @ukhomeoffice "not all Police Officers can drive" that is a weird one which I would assume. I only work in IT and driving/owning a car is a pre-req at our place. Even if it's for "just in case" to travel to another site.

That line ‘Police Response Times will be Standardised and Measured’ has really got to me. So firstly not all Police Officers can drive, let alone drive using Lights and Sirens. Most people don’t know that. They assume quite rightly that it would be a requirement like it is in most countries, but it’s not here. Also unlike in most countries it’s not an offence to not move out of the way of an Emergency Vehicle responding to an emergency. The Highway Code tells you you’re obliged to give way, but it is not an offence for not doing so. Emergency calls have three gradings: Immediate - 15 Minute Response Significant - 1 Hour Response Extended - 24 Hour Response They’re called slightly different things across the country but the timings are already ‘Standardised’. 👀 What’s not standardised is the Human Factors in the nature of Policing. Just because I come on shift and on paper it says I have 30 Cops, that isn’t actually the case. Four are restricted due to injury or other welfare reasons. Six have been taken to AID another borough, most likely to Police a protest. Eight are covering hospital guards, crime scenes and constant watches. So you’re left with twelve Cops to cover a HUGE London Borough, all of the outstanding calls from the previous shifts, and the calls that come in as you start. Those twelve Cops already have crimes to progress, but instead they are sent out to deal with and record new ones. They’re burnt out and work incredibly hard. During the shift there’s a serious traffic collision so I lose another four Cops, four more make arrests, and another two are dealing with a serious domestic incident. Now I’ve got two Cops left and they’re running to as many ‘I’ graded calls as they can and the @ukhomeoffice has just told them they will be ‘measured’ on their response times. En route to one of the calls, they have a serious collision with a member of the public. They’re suspended from driving and are investigated. When asked why they were traveling at the speed they were, they mention ‘charter times’. The @policeconduct don’t care that there are charter times; public safety is more important, and for once they’re quite right. And surprisingly no one from the @ukhomeoffice is sat next to the Cops in their criminal interview defending them and telling @policeconduct how important ‘charter times’ are. So from a lowly Response Police Sergeant, to Response Cops, Sergeants and Inspectors everywhere, our Cops get to calls as quickly as it is safe to do so, and they arrive alive. Not in a time frame set by people who have never and will never do or understand our job. #ThinBlueLine 🚨

@GLiNetWiFi Hello there! I have the Flint2 (great router!) still on v4.6.2 Fw. and see v4.6.8 is out. I missed v4.6.4, and wonder if I need to go to v4.6.4 before applying v4.6.8. I know 'vanilla' OpenWRT overwrites but wonder if settings are retained, with your trickery 😷👍

@SalfordCouncil What about bottle caps? Conflicting advise on those lately. Everything seems to point at keeping the caps on when you throw bottles away. Not least with the idea from Hell, where the cap is now tethered to the bottle, to make it easier to throw away together.

How much food is wasted by takeaways including that gross little salad that always goes straight in the bin? Surely noone is actually eating it - can we all just agree to stop this practice?

Each prisoner costs £50k per year to the UK, just saying, if we didn't lock them up and gave them £50k a year, quite a few of them wouldn't be motivated to do any crimes.
