Dustin Burrows is correct. Republicans are not going to lose 14 House seats. They lost 12 during the Beto wave - a phenomenally bad election for R's in Tx. And while this mid term election is not going to be pretty for Republicans, the #txlege House will not lose 14 seats.

I have a couple of thoughts.
1) I don’t believe that Lt Gov. @DanPatrick believes we will lose the House. That isn’t what he said.
2) Speaker @Burrows4TX and I will not let that happen. @TXGOPCaucus is united like it has not been in a long time. We understand the challenge ahead and we are ready to meet it as one team. There will be a Republican majority next session in the Texas House and I believe @Burrows4TX will retain the gavel. And you can quote me on that.
