As someone who has one of the only homes left standing after the fires, it's been obvious his entire claim has been full of shit. He's paying over $40,000 per month to live in a hotel and at no point was he ever forced into living in an Airstream because LA has a robust rental market. Even the guy who is getting divorced from Denise Richards because he beat her and stole a bunch of her money has found a place (he's renting a place from a well-known musician), so a wildfire victim would certainly have been able to locate lodging. And, while I think Bass is objectively one of the worst politicians in America and can't stand her, his constant blaming of her for the fires is laughably idiotic given the fires last year was literally a perfect storm (and an arsonist for one of the others). This dude's entire life has been one giant grift.

Spencer Pratt has gained traction in his campaign for L.A. Mayor by showing what he says Karen Bass did to his family -- forcing them to live in a trailer after his home burned down. Though, Pratt has really been staying at the Hotel Bel-Air for more than a month. Mind you, you can't get a room for less than $1,500 a night.

around me, places like Chipotle and Chick-fil-A are hiring at about $19/hour. full time that’s roughly $3,300/month before taxes. after taxes you’re probably taking home around $2,900. average one bedroom apartment? close to $1,900. so most of your paycheck disappears just keeping a roof over your head. and somehow people still call this a “budgeting problem.” working full time shouldn’t feel like survival mode.
