didn’t even read the rest, 10:1 pay ratio is the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard in my entire life. you could be a CEO, a cooperate lawyer, a top level surgeon, but you can’t earn over 120k because the part time cleaner earns 12k.

It's absurd Keir Starmer is surrendering the Chagos Islands and Diego Garcia military base when our allies need it most. I would have allowed the US to use the base from the start. The surrender of the Chagos Islands at the cost of £35bn is NOT in our national interest.

@DeborahMeaden But the breaking of Intl Law is yet again undermined. Iran NOT the aggressor - has a right to defence -seems to be targeting US bases in countries mentioned. Starmer has not anywhere acknowledged that more than a 100 girls killed in school, +targeting of Iranian hospitals.

Absolutely… I would also add that it is not the time for leaders of other parties to snipe and pop… this is not the time to play politics, it’s a time to support.. as has happened in previous times of National peril.. and it is deeply unstatesmanlike and undignified.

No matter how the Prime Minister tries to redefine offensive as defensive, this is a slippery slope. He must not let Trump drag Britain into another prolonged war in the Middle East.
Starmer must come to Parliament tomorrow, set out the legal case in full, and give MPs a vote.

BREAKING: Keir Starmer has given US permission to use UK bases at RAF Fairford and Diego Garcia to launch “defensive” airstrikes against Iran - and destroy its missiles “at source” to prevent them firing across region. PM: “Our partners in the Gulf have asked us to do more to defend them… And it’s my duty to protect British lives. “We have British jets in the air as part of coordinated defensive operations which have already successfully intercepted Iranian strikes. “But the only way to stop the threat is to destroy the missiles at source - in their storage depots or the launchers which are used to fire the missiles. “The US has requested permission to use British bases for that specific and limited defensive purpose. “We have taken the decision to accept this request to prevent Iran firing missiles across the region - killing innocent civilians, putting British lives at risk and hitting countries that have not been involved.”

Really concerned to hear the Defence Secretary refuse to rule out UK's involvement in future strikes on Iran. Iraq lessons must be learned. Further escalation in the Middle East makes us all less safe. Starmer must rule out UK involvement immediately.

It’s massively disappointing that some Leeds United fans booed when Manchester City’s players broke their fast during the first half of the match at Elland Road this evening. This was compounded by the fact that an explanation was displayed on a big screen inside the stadium.
Pausing the game to allow Muslim players to break their fast during Ramadan has been an agreed protocol for several years now. It’s an important and visible part of making the game welcoming for Muslim players and communities.
But as tonight’s reaction shows, football still has a long way to go in terms of education and acceptance.
