What a privilege to be invited to take part in one of the pods from @Schooliespod. Interesting to reflect back on my school days to consider how they may have informed my views as a school teacher & leader today. Please retweet to promote this excellent platform. Thanks Mr James!

@TeacherBusy @Team_English1 Yes. Literature in Y10 except Unseen Poetry taught at start of Y11. Links to Conflict Poetry means that works. Interleave writing (imaginative & transactional) throughout Y10. Language taught in Y11 & Literature revision. Works well as analytical skills built in Y10 e.g. A02, etc

Because trains are run by the Dark Lords of Chaos, I find myself temporarily stranded at World’s End. But then I run into another traveller, and we share the woes and joys of the itinerant educational rentagob. @teacherhead

This was heartfelt and something about it was really nice to see. Maybe its 2 blokes showing some proper love in most public arena? dunno! Wills always great tho. #Coronation “I, William, pledge my loyalty to you and faith and truth. I will bear unto you, as your liege man of life and limb. So help me God.”

@miss_c_teaches Tough 1st week back after Easter. Sorry to read this. 💞 Hope there's some consolation in our mutual challenging contexts from Reception to Y13. Tough time for Y6 teachers.💗 Please rest this weekend. Pamper yourself. Ask to speak to a trusted senior colleague on Monday.

@MissDSays In my 18th year and now as Head of School really feel the pressure. Spent 4 hrs this afternoon dealing with reports and emails. Getting a proper rest is really far more important! You can spend the holidays catching up only to end up ill or exhausted. Recharge minds not laptops!

I haven’t done any work over the holidays- not because I don’t have any to do, I have loads. Every time I thought about it, it was too overwhelming so I just kept putting it off and off and off. And now it’s the final weekend and I just feel so stressed/ anxious. I hate this.

How can anyone think that is the correct strategy? I wonder how long senior staff would endure it if they were punched in the stomach by a student? Which is sometimes part of the problem.
Kate McCallam@ChattyStaffroom

@tombennett71 heard this today. y5 pupil swearing at TAs/teachers, repeated daily disruption, refusal to work. Has to be isolated often. Violence - winded one TA, threw a chair across a room at another. No expulsion. Outstanding TA just resigned. Bodes well.

@Jo__Leighton @katy_tonna Was just going to say exactly that. Turning off notifications is a game changer. You could remove app from the front screen too so not as accessible.

Men defining what a woman is, what women should and shouldn’t fear, what women should and shouldn’t say, what rights women should be fine with giving up and, of course, what constitutes ‘real’ misogyny: get a bloody mirror. That’s real misogyny, looking right back at you.

Very disappointing experience. Six hours driving, no travel expenses or fee I volunteered to do this freely to help trainee teachers but the tutors pulled faces at me, were rude, called Ofsted tyrannical & tried to suggest there wasn’t research about retrieval practice 🤦🏽‍♀️
Kate Jones@KateJones_teach

It is great to be back at @AberUni to deliver a guest lecture to trainee teachers focusing on memory, teaching & learning & sharing the evidence review from @EvidenceInEdu Hapus iawn! 🙂👏

Goodbye to the perfunctory SEND box on SOW! Hello to our Geography SEND Framework. We have identified areas within the curriculum students with SEND *could* find more challenging and included a range of strategies using @EducEndowFoundn 5a day. Work in progress! #geographyteacher

I really like this idea of a SEND Framework rooted in the subject. Also, love the use of the modal verb 'could' which reflects a culture of ambition for all! Thanks for sharing @sarahcnokes
