I had no idea what I was doing, and lost it all.
I entered crypto in October 2017. Bought some Bitcoin at the $6,500 range.
Next day bought some Ethereum, Litecoin, and XRP.
Then over the next couple months my portfolio exploded and I thought I was a genius.
I remember showing my friend a screenshot of how I turned $10k into $50k and how "smart" I was.
(I now know today, the moment you start showing screenshots to your friends, it's time to sell).
Then of course in 2018, crypto crashed and my entire portfolio was now under $10k.
I was pissed, told myself crypto is a stupid scam, and was ready to leave.
But I was even more curious how the hell something like this was possible. So I tried to figure it out.
I continued to watch moonboy videos and read short articles and eventually realized all my information was coming from sensationalized headlines.
I wanted to go deep, so figured I should read some books. I went on Amazon and ordered:
-Blockchain Basics
-CryptoAssets
-The Bitcoin Standard
After studying these books, I started to understand what crypto was about (and the risks involved and why crypto assets could rise and fall by 50%).
(*If I could read only 1 book, it would be The Bitcoin Standard )
And then, I bought more crypto. And more. And more.
This was the last thing I would've expected to happen immediately following the crash in the beginning of 2018.
But instead, I was saving every penny I could to buy more Bitcoin and ETH (sold off all my Litecoin and XRP).
I went so deep down the rabbit hole, that I eventually asked myself "why don't I start a YouTube channel myself and share what I've learned?".
So that's what I did.
I posted my first YouTube video on November 11, 2019. It sucked.
I was addicted to everything crypto. I started reading and watching everything and anything I could get my hands on. Multiple hours a day.
Then I would take what I learned, package it into a short and easy to understand video, and share with my small community.
I kept at it. Continued learning. Continued posting.
My channel grew from 0 to over 100k subscribers in under 2 years.
The crazy part to me, is this all happened because of information I put in my brain. A book.
I wonder what would've happened If I decided to leave crypto during the 2018 bear market like the masses? What if I didn't read that book?
I guess we'll never know.
