Marathon's new big content patch, with Season 2 flops.
Even with the free-to-play week, where players can play for free, it can't even break 40k CCU since the season 2 release.
This was the "save the game" patch, and it completely underwhelms.
Remember, they killed Destiny so that Marathon could live.
I predict that Marathon will go fully free to play in the near future to just maintain the player base. It needs a minimum number of players to keep the queue and matches churning in a healthy manner, and push the MTX revenue higher.
The worst part is the server issues, the new content landing with a big "meh" from the players, and the new mode with the PvE-lite feels underwhelming.
I can't believe that this is the same developers who created the OG Halo phenomenon, and the OG Destiny that was insane...
Bungie has fallen so far from its golden days, all because it bloated the company with DEI hires and chased ideology over fun.

@3CH0plays Now…. Did they remember to fix Banner fall. Every time they changed the tower sandbox they forgot that map. When the traveler healed, it was still broken, when it left it was still there.

I’m really happy that the devs have settled the Traveler above the last city for the Monument of Triumph update.
The skyboxes of Destiny have always been breathtaking, but something felt missing at the Tower once the Traveler left.
This was a great decision.

@fflitzer Nowhere in that post do they say SEASON. They say within the YEAR of the DLC. For example if you played 1 day after Shadow keep launched and didn’t play again until Beyond Light. Your are covered for year 3 since you played in Undying and in Dawn you are more than covered.

Bungie has confirmed that Destiny 2’s final update, launching on June 9, will be more than just the end of new content.
The game’s lead developer said the update includes story content and a proper farewell for players, stating, “Yes, there’s story, yes, we get to say goodbye.”
The update, called Monument of Triumph, was announced on May 21 as the last new live-service release for Destiny 2 after 12 years of support.
After that, the game will move into maintenance mode but remain fully playable.

@Urosenpai @Pirat_Nation The code wasn’t deleted it just is useless without the backend setup to run it. Like a iPhone 2g the phone can work be in like new condition but because the 2G network is gone you can’t use it on a cell network today so as a phone its useless

Paul, people have jobs and people are playing Destiny 2 BECAUSE it’s ending. You’re comparing apples to oranges. The only similarity between the two is they’re both a fruit. @giancar73012035 Simple example. The boat was able to float with 80 people a year ago, now it sank when we put 40 on the boat. If the 40 people each are 2x heavier than the people a year ago yeah it makes perfect since the boat sank

I have absolutely no doubt, guys, that this is a DDoS attack. There’s no way the server could be having issues with 30,000 people when it handled 87,000 during the launch without any problems.

The truth is there is *no* Star Wars without ejecting the Disney Sequel Trilogy. Until they jettison that (a possibility perhaps becoming more palatable by the day), it will continue to be an anchor around the brand.
