@alphazulusierra @jasonc_nc That’s an exception to the rule, though with the upfront cost and ongoing expenses I’m still doubting they are cheaper than a human. On the manufacturing or distribution side, I can see a real savings there.

Hi. Bar owner here.
I have absolutely zero interest in this.
JØE 🕷️@ihyjvs3ph
Congrats on your $20 minimum wage. Meet Optimus

@justsettledownn @jasonc_nc But your assuming the robot takes away the labor cost and doesn’t replace it with an additional cost. Thats foolish, initial capex will be high, monthly service agreement, maintenance. I believe the technology will have a higher impact higher up the supply chain.

@Theskipper1203 @jasonc_nc If a bar opens next to a normal one selling $2 bottle and $3 draft, no tip needed, people will forget real quick about the importance of a real human bartender.
English

@jasonc_nc Bartenders are paid less than 20 an hour, they are tipped workers. I’d guess benefit cost are low to. Also not a huge upfront cost like a robot. Robots are the future in a lot of areas, but not this. They will be more valuable in higher value add roles, not pouring my beer.

@paulswaney3 Do you believe this model has increased your returns, since you have to not only like the deal, but also sell it to investors?

I hate the term "independent sponsor."
I'm not an independent sponsor. I;;m a fundless sponsor.
Say it with me. Fundless. No committed capital. No LP base. No management fees. No fund to draw from.
You find the deal. You underwrite it. You run the process. Then you go find the money to close it. In that order. Every time.
That's not independence. That's a different business model entirely. And softening the language doesn't change the math.
I think I know what happened. Someone got embarrassed. Private equity has a hierarchy and fundless sits near the bottom of it. So the industry got together, quietly agreed to rename the category, and hoped institutional buyers wouldn't notice.
They noticed.
Here's what actually bothers me about "independent sponsor": it implies optionality. Like having a fund was available and you just preferred the freedom. Like you chose this lifestyle because you're a maverick.
No. You don't have a fund. That's the thing. Own it.
Because fundless is harder. You qualify faster because you can't afford not to. You get sharp at capital raising because your livelihood depends on it. You negotiate differently because you have no institutional credibility to lean on. You earn it in the room every time.
The people writing checks already know the difference between fundless and funded. You're not rebranding your way out of that conversation.
You're just telling them you're uncomfortable with what you actually are.
I'm not.
Fundless sponsor. That's what I am. That's what I'll call it.

@PeteBlackburn Have you considered you may be better off defending your height than this bruins team?
English

Currently at the game busy watching my team play their worst game of the season, sorry I'm not responding to all the people calling me a loser midget
Musky@kensabre30
@PeteBlackburn Just ignoring comments like the bitch you are.

@paulswaney3 @realfemsapien The idea of my wife (former teacher) as a welder is making me laugh. I’m all for women in the trades, but there is a reason they are male dominant.

@lymanstoneky Wait, are city parks socialism? I’m not following the logic.

@sentdefender Isn’t it the border patrols job to protect the border?
English

President Donald J. Trump stated earlier in a post on Truth Social:
“Maybe we should have put NATO to the test: Invoked Article 5, and forced NATO to come here and protect our Southern Border from further Invasions of Illegal Immigrants, thus freeing up large numbers of Border Patrol Agents for other tasks.”

@Havoc_Six Shop rate, it doesn’t matter who does the VA loan, they are regulated products. USAA doesn’t offer anything unique compared to to a bank.

@McFranchisee Every city should pass an ordinance like we have in Salt Lake City. Any restaurant in the airport cannot upcharge vs their other locations.

Airport Pricing - Whose Fault? 🧵
1/ Airport restaurants can be an absolute cash cow: captive audience, people expecting to pay over market price, disposable income, and in a more efficient space with limited options.

Cup of clam chowder. $17.60 at The Hamptons Social, Chicago O’Hare. Cup of clam chowder. $8.99 at Market Street, Salt Lake International. SLI requires restaurants to charge the same prices they do at their other locations, keeping prices fair for air travelers. Thanks Salt Lake

@geoffschwartz If you are going to commit a felony, the payoff needs to be life changing (like early retirement) to even begin the risk/reward discussion.

Man … this is bad. Obviously don’t know their money situations but doesn’t seem worth the risk for prison.

Prosecutors allege that Luis Ortiz was paid $5,000 for throwing an intentional ball June 15 and Emmanuel Clase given $5,000 for facilitating it. They did it again, according to the indictment, June 27. The payment for each on that pitch was $7,000 apiece.
