Black Studies is one of the most important fields of research in the United States because it does not merely study society; it studies the machinery that has organized society through domination, theft, oppression, racial hierarchy, and white supremacist violence. More than almost any other discipline, Black Studies confronts white supremacism not as an abstract prejudice, but as a global system that has shaped law, education, medicine, capitalism, policing, housing, war, culture, and the very meaning of who gets to be seen as fully human.
That is why its enemies are never accidental. It is no coincidence that white supremacists—whether white themselves or non-white people seeking refuge in the privileges of whiteness—consistently attempt to dismantle Black Studies. They are not simply afraid of a curriculum. They are afraid of what happens when Black students gain access to the intellectual tools to name the world, critique the world, and remake the world. They are threatened by Black presence in spaces they imagined as white, white-adjacent, or obedient to white approval.
Black Studies is dangerous to them because it teaches that oppression is not natural, that history is not neutral, that liberation is not a fantasy, and that liberators are to be loved and honored. It exposes the lie beneath the institution(s). It reminds us that the classroom can become a site of struggle, that study can become a form of resistance, and that knowledge, when rooted in Black epistemology, and consciousness, can become a weapon against the world that tried to bury it.
Always pay close attention to the things your enemies want eradicated and erased. Because what they try to strangle and suffocate, is often where the truth is alive and breathing.

🚨 🇺🇸MAJOR BREAKING: They are marching across the Edmund Pettus Bridge again.
61 years after Bloody Sunday. The same bridge. The same fight.
Today in Selma, thousands are gathering at the spot where Alabama state troopers beat peaceful Black marchers in March 1965.
That beating shocked the country into passing the Voting Rights Act five months later.
This week the Supreme Court finished gutting it.

BREAKING: YES! The NAACP files a massive lawsuit against Tennessee Republicans' gerrymandered congressional map because it blatantly discriminates based on race.
This fight is far from over....
“The Tennessee Legislature instituted an opaque and rushed process that lacked transparency and precluded opportunities for deliberation, to prevent meaningful debate, and to silence any voices of dissent,” the lawsuit reads.
“Furthermore, legislators passed HB 7003 without any meaningful consideration given to testimony provided by lawmakers and members of the public, and without opportunity for presentation or consideration of any alternative plans that may have addressed the discriminatory intent animating the plans,” it states.
The suit argues that the new map violates the 14th and 15th Amendments to the Constitution and the evidence is damning. The new lines intentionally eliminate the state's only majority-Black district, creating yet another red district. The balance is now 9-0 for Republicans.
This blatant attack on democracy comes as part of a nationwide gerrymandering campaign that's designed to help Trump maintain control of the U.S. House despite his record low approval.
The NAACP — which is the largest civil rights group in the country with the legal and financial firepower that comes with such a distinction — has requested that a panel of judges hear its arguments against the new map. At the same time, the organization has filed an emergency petition to block the efforts to eradicate that lone Black district.
“Tennessee lawmakers made a deliberate choice to silence Black voters by dismantling a district that has long ensured representation for one of the state’s largest Black populations. We are at the dawn of a new Jim Crow era,” said NAACP President Derrick Johnson.
“People fought and died for the representation that lawmakers across the South are so casually eroding. The NAACP will not stand by while elected officials manipulate district lines to take away our political power and silence our voices,” he added.
Are you ready to keep fighting?
Please ❤️ and share if you support this lawsuit!
