Both Exeter Labour Party & Devon County Council Executives had many opportunities to start addressing this, but they both took no action. It was even highlighted to the DCC full council meeting twice. What was the CEO & Democratic leadership doing?

@exeterobserver Dear all. I lodged an official complaint against him to the Chief Executive Donna Manson & Head of Democratic Services Maria Price. They dismissed my complaint and gave me no options to appeal or to take further! Therefore, DCC sending invites to others to repeat this behaviour!

.The @TfL line that they are working with disabled people is untrue. The truth is they have been ignoring what blind people have been telling them and dissembling for more than a decade.

@VincentStops @activetraveleng @TfL Automatic car-park style barrier arms that come down across the cycleway whenever a bus is present at the stop. Cyclists will either stop sensibly, or abruptly upon impact & I don't care which.

We learnt last night two organisations were advising government on access and floating bus stops: @activetraveleng and @TfL. Both have been strong advocates for floating bus stops! You couldn’t make it up.

….and replaced it with guidance on inaccessible floating bus stops. The effect of this is to trash the Prime Minister’s commitment on accessible transport. Please retweet to get @Heidi_Labour and @simonlightwood to listen to blind people.

In the Lords, the government narrowly defeated, (by 2 votes) an amendment by blind @LordChrisHolmes to ensure blind people could get on and off the bus as they could hitherto….

@ediz1975 Shame on the previous users. Do they expect those who are blind and partially sighted have to trip over them or navigate each and every obstacle. Need to be returned to an officially nearby docking station, or charged extra if 'dumped'.

But carzzzzzzz Cycling groups call this acceptable…. As it’s not a car …… In reality there is no difference…… Those cyclists are charlatans

@steveracemp If the behaviour of Cllr Danny Barnes is typical of a Labour Cllr then 6 is enough thank you. His attendance track record, failure to respond to residents for over 18 months, failure to award a single penny of a £14k grant allowance is disgusting. Nobody in Labour criticised him.

The dockless cycle hire revolution has taken over London’s streets - literally. Lime & Forest bikes litter pavements across the capital causing hazards for pedestrians - especially for older, blind, partially sighted and disabled people. Pavements are for people, NOT parking!

In a partial victory for blind people these bus stops will have to be made accessible again. Thanks to all those Lords and Baronesses that supported accessible bus stops.

@SueJWebber @NFBUK There should be a controlled crossing point for each of these floating bus stops. Those with visual impairments or limited mobility could then cross with a certain degree of safety & confidence. And everyone would have no doubt that the pedestrian had the right of way to cross.

Face to face, they tell you how concerned they are for local residents and businesses, but in the next breath, they are voting for 12 hour bus lanes and LTN's. Andrew B seems out of depth! Ideology v reality policy!

@exetergreens Something advocated by many before Devon County Council aided and abetted by your councillor and @exeterlabour inflicted misery on our communities with a failed LTN , wasting £241,000 in the process.

Green councillors will tonight call on Labour-led #Exeter City Council to back #SchoolStreets Car-free areas outside schools at the start & end of the school day, providing both parents & children the confidence to know they will be safe when they walk, scoot or cycle to school.
