@sarah_go_green @Wbheigh @OctopusEnergy It's badly worded but says you can have an extra 6 hours off peak if it's scheduled. Any more than the extra 6 will be charged at the normal rate

Just had the email from @OctopusEnergy about the changes to Intelligent Go. SO if you plug in your EV and more than 6 hours are needed for charging the additional hours in that schedule will be at peak rate BUT will 11.30pm to 5.30am still always be at the 7p per kWh rate? So if you get an afternoon slot plus staggered throughout evening into the peak rate and say that totals 10 hours how do you know what part is charged at boost price and what's offpeak price? The email says the whole house will still get the 6 hours of offpeak but is that regardless of what the EVs doing? I'm trying to work out how you'll know what's definatly boost price and what's offpeak. I think if i struggle to work that out from the email others will too 🤣

@globalds @Ed_Miliband What is the calculation on fish intake without the measures in place? The AFD has a small impact but the other two measures which are the majority of the cost are much more effective but still will end up with significant intake regardless.

Then phases to Crewe and Manchester will reappear under new names. Perhaps slower but capacity will be the point finally. It will be a generation later for sure.

I have a crazy idea that a fully deep tunnelled HS2 would’ve been cheaper as it’d allow specialisation and the ability to sell masses of aggregates from the spoil Note as well that weathering doesn’t really happen deep underground so it’d last forever too

@Phantompratty @implausibleblog @g__j Plan was too give incentives for intial construction. Which has created an industrial base for wind driving the price down. It's clear that the pivot to upgrade the grid was too slow and should have really been started a 5 years ago. Turns out we were distracted by other things.

@guzziv8 @supergoodlife @g__j I mean I get it, you don't want the car importing and the solar exporting into the car, everything is on meter side so export wouldn't be captured. Grid solar is causing the issue at that point so the difference between meter improt and car request could be calculated however.

@1AlexRusso0 @OctopusEnergy But you aren't buying it, it is on a 3 year lease and Octopus is using the vehicle for grid balancing services and you get free mileage on driving the vehicle. Seems to be reasonable although limiting to properties without existing battery and solar is disappointing.

@OctopusEnergy Please explain the science behind this How is adding additional charges not degrading battery pack by exporting to grid. This is the most stupid reason ever to buy an EV vehicle to do this.
