Dear #TamilNadu, Say hello to #Nokia's world’s largest R&D facility for "fixed networks*🌟 Yesterday, Nokia inaugurated its new R&D facility at SIPCOT Siruseri, Chennai, opening the doors for 200+ high end #JobsForTN ✨ Nokia is one of the earliest and most important R&D investor in the State, deeply embedded in Chennai’s telecom and network engineering ecosystem. The company already employs close to 1,000 engineers in Tamil Nadu starting from 1997 when the phenom Kalaignar set the stage for a massive IT revolution in TN. This new facility builds on that foundation. This particular expansion traces back to the MoU signed during Honourable @CMOTamilNadu Thiru. @MKStalin avargal’s #CMStalinInUS trip. What was committed then has now translated into a concrete investment on the ground👍🏾 Phase 1 of the project brings an investment of ₹270 crore (up from the Rs220 Crore originally promised in phase 1) and phase II is said to be around Rs 300 Crore. The Siruseri facility will house Nokia’s largest Fixed Network R&D lab globally, with a focus on advanced fixed network broadband technologies.
