The hate in the replies is bizarre. Fasting is a Christian practice. I do hope my Jewish friends read and see how nasty many so called Christians are even to other Christians. Bad people hid behind the Bible for all sorts of purposes.

Citizenship can't be lost by rejecting American principles — that would violate the principles. So yes, you can believe any ideas you want and still be an American by law, even if you aren't one in spirit. That idea is called "freedom." Giving that up wouldn't be the end the people, but it would be the end of America.
