Golf carts are becoming street legal in one community after another as families ditch their minivans and SUVs when they want to run a quick errand or ramble around town. But with the boom has come a backlash. 🔗: on.wsj.com/4lkpuVq

This young woman was just 19 years old when she was kidnapped by Hamas on October 7th. This is her now. After 15 months in captivity, Liri Albag has appeared in a new hostage video, which her family have approved for release. She has been subjected to unimaginable cruelty.

@emilykschrader Israelis are in Amsterdam singing racist songs of extermination that include lyrics like, “let the IDF win to Fuck the Arabs” and “there are no schools in Gaza because there are no children left”. In response, they’re getting beat up. Now they’re crying about it. Cry more.

@Alonso_GD No sir. Palestinians are a "constructed identity" even according to Dr. Rashid Khalidi the foremost historian on the subject of Palestine. That doesn't mean I agree that they have to "go back" or that they don't exist, but they were never a distinct people before the modern era.

Stat i staten.

In a statement, the Israeli military attempted to justify its recent attack on a school sheltering thousands of displaced people, citing that some journalists injured in the attack were allegedly linked to Hamas’s propaganda arm rather than being targeted directly. However, the reality is that the attack killed four well-known journalists known for their professional reporting, none of whom had any military affiliations as the army claims.

@KingSirdave @afalkhatib There are many armed factions in Gaza. Hamas is(was?) just the biggest. That aside, I’m sure the IDF would be willing to support a rival to Hamas who committed to peace with Israel.

The Islamist terror “resistance” movement known as Hamas continues to implement jungle-style law enforcement in the parts of Gaza that it controls. This entails public executions, shooting people in the knees, severe beatings, and violence to deter and scare Palestinians and remind them who’s still in charge. What is a puzzling mystery is that the Israeli military regularly conducts airstrikes and attacks in which hundreds of civilians are killed and maimed without understanding what’s being targeted. Meanwhile, Hamas’s thugs roam the streets with their weapons in plain and complete view of Israeli drones and surveillance and they’re somehow allowed to proceed unchallenged and unhindered.

In Detroit, Vice President Kamala Harris was asked if she could lose due to the anger felt by Arabs, Muslims, and supporters of the Palestinian cause over civilian deaths in Gaza. As part of her response, Harris said, “The first, most tragic story is October 7.” That line, in particular, has further angered supporters of the Palestinian cause.

@HalfAtlanta @CubaMINREX @NNOCuba There's not a blockade, Cuba can trade with whoever they want but the USA because the government doesn't allow USA companies to trade certain items but other are allowed. It is easy to understand, that's not a blockade.

🧵If you read our recent dispatch from Havana, you're not surprised by the massive blackout there. Biden's strangulation of Cuba is tighter than any president's since the revolution, a sadistic policy that has resulted in mass hunger, migration, and now a grid collapse. /1

All who bear witness to Israeli atrocities in Gaza are attacked with a tsunami of pro-Israeli lies. The NYT had to document, again, that health workers could verify that Israeli snipers were assassinating Palestinian children (see next tweet for link to full article) 1/3

German Foreign Minister Baerbock defends Israel's killings of Palestinian civilians. "Civilian places" lose "their protected status" because "terrorists abuse that", she claims. This is of course nonsense under international law. The International Criminal Court accuses Israel of war crimes and crimes against humanity. But Baerbock wants to justify the crimes. "That's what Germany stands for", she claims. What a disgrace.

For the legality it is relevant that proportionality is kept not that a place is uninhabited. The terrible pictures we all saw - until now they show a militant was the person burning and altogether 5 adults died. I’m not defending it. I think it was a mistake that they dropped a bomb so close to tents. But under legal issues it’s much less clear.
