@rajsinghchohan So what will the attacking depth look like? I much prefer Gordon who’s versatile and can play up front too.

@ThodorisKobe Diomande is done imo, will play both wings. I don’t know if another winger comes in or not, depends on Gakpo.

Dribbling with a purpose in mind. The first possible shot angle is very hard to score from so he decided to dribble again and create the 2nd possible shot.

Almost two years down the line, this is still true. Most of Arsenal’s offensive issues are because of what has been prioritised in squad building. I don’t think Arsenal would have any open-play creativity issues had the idea been a 6 and two interiors, like City did for so long. If you play Rice alongside Zubimendi, I don’t see the point of it unless you play with attacking full-backs like Bayern, which Arsenal don’t. To put it simply, Rodri, Bernardo, and De Bruyne should have been the blueprint for midfield. Arteta has gone for two DMs and one interior/10. Four DMs at the club, and two interiors prove that the squad building is intentional. It has obviously been done to leverage OOP, but the trade-off is not worth it for an elite team.

Arsenal have not raised their ceiling enough with their transfer business this summer. Calafiori is a decent upgrade on Kiwior, and Merino is a quality squad player, but nothing that moves the needle and gives them the edge over Man City. The benefit of having a large space-dominating defensive midfielder in Rice is to be able to accommodate two top offensive interiors like City do. What is the point of having a player like Rice and always playing him with a Partey or a Merino? It is inefficient to not take advantage of Rice’s capabilities to further enhance the collective. What Arsenal needed this summer was a zone-dominating LCM from the Pedri archetype that would have taken their attack and their ceiling to the next level.

Liverpool have to sign two wingers in the summer. Starting quality. You don't build a squad that centres around fullbacks holding the width. Otherwise you set the club back years. Too many #9's, too many #10's, not enough wingers… It's the same problem back 3's cause.

There is a definite argument to say that Germany have the best coaching system in place. The way Danny Röhl & Tonda Eckert transformed Championship teams is eye-opening in the last few seasons. Southampton were 3 points off relegation when Eckert was appointed - an FA Cup semi-final and on track to get play-offs is crazy work. Sheffield Wednesday have won 1 game all season without Röhl after he saved them from relegation previously. Röhl has now gone on to take Rangers from 13 points behind the leaders to 1st place. And they both learnt from others in different roles before becoming managers. Hansi Flick is the poster-boy for this. He did his apprenticeship as an assistant manager to Joachim Löw in his World Cup win as well as assistant at Bayern. Röhl himself did his an apprenticeship under Flick as his assistant. Eckert worked with Bayern’s youth teams then became an assistant manager at Barnsley & Genoa. Learning from others, rising through the ranks, then using their experiences to take on the big job.

One pass is all it takes… to destroy Arne Slot’s off-ball structure

@Micks2B They neglected a lot of need for the current squad. Leaving Guehi so late, Isak spending, neglecting wingers, not buying a no6 for rotation purposes. No squad depth.

Also re Edwards - a top operator, best in the game. Got it spot on bringing Arne in last season for the squad we had, it won us another league. What he got wrong was that Arne would be the best person for the transitioned squad, but easy fix.

Not sure what to make of the Hughes rumours. May be in the minority on this but I dont think hes a problem, hes great at his job and would work well with another coach. If he does go hopefully takes Arne with him.

@KevLfc19 You’ve been handed numerous pieces of evidence without one particular player in the league cup final last season and when he was taken out of the team at the end of last season. And then again this season and yet… you still don’t get it

Should have been 21 titles this year. But our incompetent manager, is incapable of getting the best out of this team with world class players. Bang average league and we’ve let Arsenal walk over it. Easiest league we’ve ever lost
