Yesterday I thumbed my nose at 2020 and returned to my dream job at @basecamp, after a six-year hiatus. It's SO GOOD to be back!

@nixhaxor @hacks4pancakes 1Password because it works across all devices I own and after reading their whitepapers I trust their particular sync solution. I like paying them directly as it aligns my interests more closely with mine and I enjoy the family plan - having a shared vault with my wife is handy.

@tenderlove God yes. Not to mention the toolchains for managing text based config give you a lot of value for “free” - versioning, good diffing, you can generally use comments and all that good stuff!

I feel like every cloud platform UI is extremely hard to use. I thought system configuration was supposed to get easier, but I'd rather muddle my way through config files in the terminal than config files in a web UI

Hello! I tweet about/RT/link to probably too many different things. If you're following me for game dev/game writing/narrative design/VO stuff that might be frustrating. So should I have two different twitter accounts instead?

@MOOMANiBE Have you played Dragon Quest 11? I have no history with the franchise but had a blast with that one.

@thelindsayellis Many short chapters has a definite momentum to it, especially if most of them don’t switch perspectives or skip time or anything.

@BenKuchera This is definitely why I am no longer interested in the new big title thing that’s all over the discourse rn. You can judge morality of actions in games and you can make murder the only available verb but I get super irritated when those things are combined.

@mode7games The tech jargon also generally seems to serve the same purpose as a salesperson rattling off engine specs while trying to talk up a car. It lacks the specificity to be actually useful information but probably sounds impressive.

Engine tech demos are *not* specifically targeted at devs - they are a more general brand play

@mode7games This season has been so great for Cool New Things! Scarlett v Rogue was an incredible series on this axis also. And more recently the RO16 TY v Solar, game 1 was wild. There’s also been some of the best SC2 ever this GSL (Dark v TaeJa in RO16)

Been watching a lot of Starcraft 2 again and it's been very useful for keeping my brain together. If you've ever watched or played an RTS, you *must* see this one match from this season. Bear in mind that this is the highest pro level of the game. youtu.be/WXYhnv9pvA8?t=…
