Very interesting: Mexico has officially launched one of its most ambitious infrastructure projects in decades, the Interoceanic Corridor of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec. The project connects the Pacific Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico, creating a new trade route across southern Mexico. Cargo ships arriving at the Port of Salina Cruz (Oaxaca) can unload containers that are then transported by modern rail across the country to the Port of Coatzacoalcos (Veracruz) on the Gulf side and vice versa. The corridor runs across the narrowest part of Mexico, allowing goods to move between oceans faster without having to travel thousands of miles through the Panama Canal. But the project is much bigger than a railway. Mexico is also building: • Modernized ports • Industrial parks and factories • Highways and logistics hubs • New economic zones to attract global investment The goal is to turn southern Mexico into a major global logistics hub while bringing jobs and economic growth to states like Oaxaca, Veracruz, Tabasco, and Chiapas. While it won’t replace the Panama Canal, experts say the corridor could become a powerful alternative trade route for companies moving goods between Asia, North America, and the Atlantic. For Mexico, it marks the beginning of a new era of infrastructure, trade, and economic development.

So looks like oil prices and the market win the war, and it produced the amazing result of the IRGC remaining in charge, with a new hardline leader whose family was killed by the US?

NEW—In a phone interview, President Trump told me the war could be over soon: “I think the war is very complete, pretty much. They have no navy, no communications, they’ve got no Air Force.” He added that the U.S. is “very far” ahead of his initial 4-5 week estimated time frame.

This is a profound continental divide. Canadians overwhelmingly view other Canadians, even those unlike them, as being good people. Americans, more than any other country, view their neighbours and fellow citizens as bad people. Anti-Americanism flourishes in the United States
Pew Research Center@pewresearch

We asked people around the world to rate the morality and ethics of others in their country. The U.S. is the only place we surveyed where more adults describe the morality and ethics of others living in the country as bad than good. It was the honour of a lifetime to have served as mayor of this city, the city I love and will always hold dearly in my heart. You’ve given me a lot to think about and I want to assure you I have given it serious consideration. But I will not be running in the 2026 election.

Today we are revising our Creator Revenue Sharing policies to maintain authenticity of content on Timeline and prevent manipulation of the program. During times of war, it is critical that people have access to authentic information on the ground. With today’s AI technologies, it is trivial to create content that can mislead people. Starting now, users who post AI-generated videos of an armed conflict—without adding a disclosure that it was made with AI—will be suspended from Creator Revenue Sharing for 90 days. Subsequent violations will result in a permanent suspension from the program. This will be flagged to us by any post with a Community Note or if the content contains meta data (or other signals) from generative AI tools. We will continue to refine our policies and product to ensure X can be trusted during these critical moments.

#BREAKING: British Columbia Becomes 2nd Province to Eliminate Time Change, Adopts Permanent Daylight Saving Time As we approach that time of year when the clocks spring forward, bringing those later sunsets we all look forward to, there is once again plenty of discussion about getting rid of the time change altogether. Back in 2020, the Ontario government passed legislation that would make daylight saving time permanent. However, that change does not come into effect unless Quebec and New York also make the same move. The goal was to avoid Ontario ending up in a different time zone than its major trading partners and neighbouring regions. British Columbia is now taking a different approach! The province has announced that this weekend will be the last time clocks change. Instead of waiting on other provinces or U.S. states, British Columbia will move ahead with permanent daylight saving time on its own. That means British Columbia will officially become the second Canadian province to eliminate the biannual time change. Saskatchewan was the first, making the move all the way back in 1966. However, Saskatchewan adopted permanent standard time, not daylight saving time like British Columbia is now doing. Yukon also made a similar move in 2020, and with this announcement from British Columbia, they will be in a unified time zone together. Under this new setup, during the winter months, British Columbia will effectively be two hours behind Eastern Standard Time and will match Alberta’s time. It will be interesting to see if this decision sparks momentum in other provinces, including here in Ontario. Would you like to see Ontario finally make the switch to permanent daylight saving time as well? - Brennen
