Labour inherited a defence budget for 2024/25 of £60.2 billion. Latest projections put defence spending at £73.5 billion by 2028/29. That’s a rise of £13.3 billion. Where did you get the £270 billion increase from? The tooth fairy? Let me speak plainly: it’s a lie — delete the tweet.
Wales Office@WalesOffice

The UK Government is increasing defence spending by £270bn over this Parliament to strengthen our national security. Welsh Secretary @JoStevensLabour visited the Mission Systems team @gduknews in Oakdale to see the role that Wales's defence sector is playing in boosting our economy and creating jobs.

I honestly did not know what to post there was so much that surprised me. There are 145k companies on the register in total; thousands of restaurants, cafes, religious institutions, supermarkets, corner shops, furniture shops, petrol stations, butchers and taxi companies. Half of these licenses need to be revoked so that young people of this country can try to find work. I know where I would start in addressing the legal immigration issue; the sponsors.

One million young people are NEET. Today, we reveal a factor that has been long overlooked: uncontrolled immigration. New CSJ research reveals that since 2020, for every young Brit hired, 27 young non-EU migrants were employed. Any credible response must address this issue👇

The trial has concluded, the facts have been confirmed. As the prosecuting counsel put it, Digwa used his “trump card” by alleging he had been the victim of racist abuse when police officers arrived. DEI has again proved lethal - literally lethal. Henry Nowak, like the victims of Valdo Kalocane, of Axel Rudakubana, of the rape gangs, was failed by a public sector that treats anti-racism as its supreme value. Unlike the death of George Floyd, his death plainly did reveal institutional bias - a bias deliberately cultivated across state bodies by years of training sessions and seminars. Where are the protests? Where are the knee-takings? Where are the corporate boycotts? Sod it, let’s be more modest. Is anyone even calling for an overhaul of the police?
Daniel Hannan@DanielJHannan

“Why the asymmetry in coverage? Both men died after being restrained by the police. Nowak’s last words, like Floyd’s, were reported to be ‘I can’t breathe’. Yet there have been no riots over the white victim, no statues smashed, no corporate vigils. No one has been fired for saying that all lives matter. Indeed, until @elonmusk took an interest, Nowak’s death was being reported as a local crime story.” washingtonexaminer.com/opinion/column…

Saying they were misled gives away that your policy is to believe one group of people first based on accusations alone, make arrests on that basis and ask questions later. Henry was on the ground dying, I can't imagine he was much of a flight risk. A competent or impartial Officer would have investigated first, then made arrests based on preponderance of evidence. That's not your policy though is it, your Officers (and all UK Police to be fair) are so beholden to the cancer of Identity Politics that resulted in a young man being arrested by the people charged with protecting him while he lay dying. You have no idea how angry and disgusted people are with your group of inhuman, incompetent bullies.

The faces of 19 British judges. Case after case where serious sexual offenders walked free or received shockingly lenient sentences. Public confidence in our justice system is collapsing — victims deserve better, and the country is demanding accountability. #JusticeForWomen

🚨 California just voted to pass AB 2624 aka “The Stop Nick Shirley Act”: This bill puts journalists at civil risk for investigating fraud and makes it harder to expose fraud in “immigration support services,” including NGOs, nonprofits and health care facilities that receive hundreds of millions from the state of California each year. This bill would have made it criminal to expose fake hospices in LA or the Somali “learing center” in Minnesota if they then claim “reasonable fear” and the business owner gives a written demand not to post the video. Plain and simple, California is trying to make it harder to expose fraud and scare individuals from investigating fraud in their communities, as they could be sued for an injunction to remove the video + forced to pay their attorney fees + minimum $4,000 in damages. The Attorney General's wife, Mia Bonta, created this bill and is now trying to make it law. How is this not a conflict of interest? California is full of FRAUDSTERS!

'You want to give 16-year-olds the vote, but you're saying a 23-year-old was too immature to fully understand what he was doing?' @aliciakearns challenges the government's logic on an asylum seeker's rape of a 12-year-old girl, adding there is an 'epidemic of misogyny'.

POLICE CRASH MURDERED TEENS MEMORIAL FUNDRAISER Fury as police turn up demanding an “event certificate” at memorial fundraiser for murdered schoolboy Harvey Willgoose. Former Sheffield United and QPR goalkeeper Paddy Kenny was at “Harvey Fest” on Sunday a family-run event at the Hog’s Head pub in Hackenthorpe, South Yorkshire, raising cash for “Harvey’s Hub” youth club in memory of 15-year-old Harvey. Harvey was stabbed to death on his lunch break at All Saints Catholic High School in Sheffield on 3 February 2025. His killer, another 15-year-old boy, was jailed for life with a minimum 16-year term. Kenny posted footage on X showing officers at the event and raged: “Police have turned up asking for an event certificate… What the f*** has this world come to. Unf***ing believable.” The family had full permission from the pub manager. Many called the police action “disgraceful and disrespectful” to a grieving community.

This guy had his bike stolen and traced it down to a house. The bike’s been there for over 12 hours, but listen to how the police acted and the attitude! They say they can’t do anything because the back gate is open and there’s no other evidence. He then argues with the man, who clearly just wants justice for his stolen bike. The British police are an absolute joke.

This case strikes me as extraordinary, both for the police behaviour and judge's apparent direction to the jury. Carrying an 8" knife is illegal with very limited exceptions which do not include "self defence". The Criminal Justice Act makes that plain, and the Sentencing Council says in terms "carrying a knife or other weapon for protection is not a lawful reason. " The Attorney General should be reviewing both this case and the case of the two teenage rapists ASAP. I don't know what is happening with our justice system at the moment, and I am not alone in that concern. bbc.co.uk/news/articles/…

HE KNEW THE DOSSIER WAS FAKE. WEEKS LATER HE WAS DEAD IN A FIELD Dr David Kelly was Britain's foremost weapons inspector. He spent years inspecting Iraqi facilities, earned a Nobel Peace Prize nomination, and knew more about Saddam's arsenal than almost anyone in government. In 2002, Tony Blair's government published a dossier claiming Iraq could deploy chemical and biological weapons within 45 minutes. Britain went to war on the back of it. No weapons were ever found. Kelly knew the dossier was rubbish. He said so, quietly, to a @BBC journalist. That conversation ended his career, his privacy, and ultimately his life. The MOD carefully allowed his name to leak to the press as the BBC's source. He was then hauled before parliamentary committees, stripped apart by his own employer, and thrown to a media frenzy he never asked for. Two days after giving evidence to MPs, the 59-year-old was found dead in woodland near his Oxfordshire home. Instead of a proper inquest, Tony Blair asked Lord Hutton to run a private inquiry. Hutton concluded suicide. The inquest was opened, then suspended, and never resumed. Eight senior legal and medical figures, including a coroner, later wrote to @thetimes saying the verdict was unsafe. They argued the wound found on Kelly's wrist, a severed ulnar artery, would not have caused sufficient blood loss to kill a healthy person. There were no fingerprints on the knife found beside his body, even though he was not wearing gloves. In 2011, Attorney General Dominic Grieve rejected all calls for a new inquest. He said the Hutton Inquiry was "tantamount to an inquest" and that further investigation would be dismissed by judges with irritation. A man challenged the government's justification for a war that killed hundreds of thousands of people. He was publicly destroyed, died in mysterious circumstances, never got a proper inquest, and the people who sent him into that media storm faced no consequences whatsoever. Tony Blair became a Middle East Peace Envoy the following year. You genuinely could not make it up. Sources: @BBCNews, openDemocracy, Hansard, @thetimes | Hutton Report

Afghans are more than TWENTY times more likely to commit sex crimes than Brits. Crimes that were once rare horrors are now regular stories. Ministers deny it - but the whole country can see what's going on. My message to David Lammy: stop the cover-up, sort it out.
