@TimeTrekFam

Just trying to raise good humans with God, common sense, and whatever’s left in the pantry. Real food, real talk, and a proudly American homeschool.

Almost everyone CAN homeschool. Whether or not you SHOULD is between you and God but the barriers are smaller than they feel.

@GreatLakesWife_ Chicken pox is no biggie, but annoying, HFM is TERRIBLE - just know this from my childhood and professional experience. We managed to miss them all by breastfeeding and opting out of daycare/preschool. We were a relatively healthy household until our oldest decided to go public

I’m gonna be honest, I have no clue what most childhood diseases are. Croup? Thrush? Hand foot mouth? No idea what any of them entail

@Nyct0phil3_x Oh no!! What do you do when this happens? Can you just wash it back to normal? I’m cursed/blessed with pin-straight, couldn’t-curl-it-if-I-needed-to hair.

The younger 3 kids have found all my styling hairbrushes and brushed each others hair. What is the problem, you ask? The kids have 3A hair. They all look like Hair Bear now 😭

@CatholicCharm I don’t disagree that these brands are overpriced but what’s unfortunate is that we can’t fully separate lead from minerals and crops. .02mcg is a very small amount, all things considered. Probably less lead than many babies get through breast milk.

@AniseNot Are they just broke or something? My mom gifts is family heirlooms when they’re low on gifts but I can’t imagine it could be something super oversized… she does send clothes that might not fit sometimes (just in case) but it’s never for a gift-giving occasion.

For the Man’s birthday his mother sent him a coat that looked good quality & nice & he was so flippant, almost annoyed, about it. He was being rude about it. His family was visiting so I played it off like “Ohh how sweet, very nice coat. That will come in handy NEXT WINTER” He is often annoyed by his mother & my tendency is to think about how I would feel of my son treats me like that when he’s an adult & I mostly tell him to be nicer to his mom Anyways, I was cleaning up after last week’s mayhem & I pick up this coat & realize it is fkng enormous. Check the inside & see this thing is a 2XL. There’s no purchase tags on it This man is 6’2” & 180lbs soaking wet, but he does have a stepdad who wears 2XL You guys this woman regifted him one of his stepdad’s massive coats WHAT A B I’m so mad for him

@DaringGlory Being able to talk and agree is key! But I will say not being on the same financial page is not the same as someone not understanding how, having different habits, or having different priorities in the moment. You gotta get creative sometimes!

@TimeTrekFam Being poor together was a really useful part of my marriage. It has made it a lot more fun to be not-poor together also. But then, I knew I needed to be on the same page with my husband financially before I met him, so it was a dealbreaker issue for me.

@meatypepper That is so bizarre to me! My 3yo is still napping strong, though it’s a bit of a struggle on the weekends when the whole family is home. Even if he doesn’t nap, I enforce ‘quiet time’

@Nyct0phil3_x Agree! Plus and it’s doing your kid a disservice by protecting them when the consequences are less severe as a minor. Same scenario but as an adult? Somebody’s gonna teach the bully 😬

@TimeTrekFam SAME. "But what if it was your kid?!" Firstly it wouldnt be, secondly if my kid is being an asshole in some way I have zero issue with someone else telling them to knock it off or that they're being an asshole lol. Actions have consequences.

"What if it was YOUR kid who was bullying the 11 year old autistic child?!" Well firstly Lori, it wouldn't be, because my kids aren't feral little reprobates who are left to terrorise neighbourhood children.
Lori Damico@DamicoLori62349

@WorkerUnit1 @nypost No. It’s kidnapping. Think about your kid just riding his bike and an adult takes him and holds him against his will. Don’t care what the reason is. She’s an adult. He is not.

The thing I hate about should I/shouldn’t I abortion discourse is that they think the mistake was getting pregnant.

@OVTweetmarck If you’re scared and anxious, know that won’t ever go away even if that baby does. Those negative feelings will turn into guilt and regret. Don’t do it.

@Nyct0phil3_x But kids don’t know that, my thought it maybe it’ll scare him 😂 since his parents don’t care? I’m so anti-bullying that I wouldn’t even get mad if someone told off my kid for being a jerk.

@TimeTrekFam Police rarely do anything in my experience - except when the victim fights back of course. Yeah I'd have gone off at the parents and the kid, I wouldn't have bundled him anywhere but I am not above ripping into a bully whatever their age. I have no patience for bullies.

Been thrifting stainless steel pots, pans, steamer baskets, mixing bowls, and colanders. Also got some heavy duty commercial style tongs, slotted spoon, and a ball whisk. 75 cents to two bucks a piece. Can't believe people get rid of some of this stuff.

@musings_blonde @WonderWomaNinja Do you have plastic dishes or ceramic? That might be the difference. The water used at the end of the cycle is so hot that the dishes warm up and cause the water to turn into steam. It doesn’t work on plastic dishes, though.

🤯 what IF.. hear me out. What if there was a vibration thing in dishwashers to knock excessive water off of stuff.. AND a fan to help dry… 🤩
