That’s not true. Certain types of beer are full of polyphenols (potent antioxidants) … but alcohol free beers have been shown to have low antioxidant power because ETHANOL AIDS IN THE ABSORPTION OF PHENOLIC COMPOUNDS. This combination of ethanol and antioxidants is powerful—and likely contributes to the established association between moderate alcohol consumption and reduced mortality. Not to mention mention that certain unfiltered beers (like the cask conditioned real ale that I enjoy) has probiotic qualities because of the residual active live cultures of yeast.
