So, my dad died unexpectedly of a heart attack yesterday morning. I brought him to the hospital and was with him when it happened. I think Mom's terminal cancer was too much for him to bear. I'm so numb right now.

Any licensed morticians or embalmers out there want to tell me how it's possible to see veins and subcutaneous ecchymosis (bruising) in an embalmed body?

@RealDrJaneRuby Embalmer here, this is normal, although im a bit peeved whoever embalmed him didn't seem to use any dye. For once I can solidly say I could have done better. Also for the most part if blood has left the vessels (ecchymosis) they will likely appear darker 1/2

@GeorgeBruno @RealDrJaneRuby Embalming doesn’t remove bruising. You just normally use cosmetics to cover them. His hands probably got bruised when he fell off the chair, etc. Veins are normal to be seen after embalming because they’re filled with embalming fluid just like they’re filled blood in life.

I get it, most worship music sucks. Some pastors suck. But we, especially reformed people, of which I'm one, often get so hung up on the little details that we miss the big picture work God is doing.

One of the biggest problems in Christianity is "missing the forest for the trees." People are upset because of the worship music and pyro at the Charlie Kirk funeral, instead of focusing on the fact that the Gospel was preached to an estimated audience of 300 million.

When you give your life to Jesus, you realize something… All those “rules” that everything thinks take all the “fun” out life…. They’re actually there to help you live a fulfilling life.

I hope they forced Tyler Robinson to sit in his jail cell and watch that funeral. And I hope he gave his life to Christ.
