They represent the cultural history of the subcontinent! Unlike the Chinese, Indians have been practicing their classical dance forms continuously for more than 2,000 years! But the harsh truth is this: the Mogao Caves, which hold these Dunhuang murals, took direct inspiration from India's Ajanta Caves! Imagine this: if I go to Italy, take a picture of ballet, then print and post that picture on a Chinese wall... would it become a "Chinese dance" 1,000 years later?
