@MarvinMediocre @farmingandJesus You don’t understand how Catholicism works
English

@TitusINRI @farmingandJesus Have you looked at Roman Catholicism? You have Catholics with all kinds of different interpretations. Your last Pope interpreted the Bible differently than any of his predecessors.
English

@jontheharris @taco_talks That’s great you with your own consciousness and opinion can definitely say that.
What constitutes being a Christian then?
English

@Sola_Requiem It’s not virtue signaling to condemn idolatry. Why are you offended at telling people not to worship Mary if you don’t worship Mary?
English

This is what Trent was talking about when he said all Christians, especially content creators, should watch how they behave. It’s not ‘virtue signaling’ to tell our brothers in Christ that we will all face the judgment of God and confess everything before our creator.

You’re confusing justification with final purification.
Catholics agree we are saved by grace (Eph 2:8–9). Purgatory is not earning heaven and not a second chance, everyone there already belongs to Christ.
But nothing unclean enters heaven (Rev 21:27). Christians can still die imperfect (1 Jn 1:8), and Paul describes a saved person “saved, but as through fire” (1 Cor 3:15). So God completes our holiness (Heb 12:14).
See CCC 1030–1032.
Purgatory = the final purification of a saved soul by Christ’s grace, not a rival to the Cross.
English

Catholics claim that purgatory is a gift of God — a place where those not holy enough for heaven, yet not wicked enough for hell, are further cleansed.
But Scripture teaches that the gift of God is justification by grace through faith (Ephesians 2:8–9).
If Christ’s righteousness fully justifies the believer, what remains to be purged?
And if souls in purgatory cannot pray, repent, or grow through Scripture, on what basis are they sanctified?
Are they dependent upon stored-up merit from their earthly works — or the works of others — to secure their release?
English

@poperespecter1 I know! He’s such a great advocate for Catholicism! I wonder when he will reveal that’s what his goal has been!
Or he’s an idiot liar 😳
English

There are certain opponents of the Catholic Church that I am confident bring more people to the Catholic faith than they lead away.
Taco Talks is at the top of that list. The sort of enemy you want.

Question for Protestants:
It's a historical fact that other human beings were necessary for you to attain your Faith.
You heard the Gospel out of a pastor's mouth.
The Bible in your hands came from a bookstore run by a business owner.
Its pages were printed in a press built by man.
Its contents were written down by men, and then transmitted faithfully over the generations, by men.
If human beings didn't build the printing press, write down what Jesus said, and so on, you would not have received the Gospel.
Wouldn't you agree that other human beings are necessary for your Faith?
Now, you could certainly say, "God doesn't need them... He could have spoken to me directly through a pulsating light in the sky or done it a different way."
Yes, we can imagine a hypothetical world where things were different.
In this hypothetical world, where anything can happen, we could have instead been created with six fingers on each of our hands, instead of five... we could have had wings... rain could have tasted like honey.
But you don't live in a hypothetical world.
You live in this one. The real world.
And in the real world, with the real Revelation of how God operates and what His plan is for you and me, has He not made it clear that salvation comes from Christ through the instruments of other human beings?

1. Catholics ARE Christians. We confess the Trinity, that Jesus Christ is God incarnate who died and rose for our salvation, and that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. We profess the Apostles’ and Nicene Creeds, use the same New Testament received by the early Church, and baptize in the name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Those are the core beliefs of historic Christianity.
2. CCC 841 does not teach automatic salvation for Muslims. It says Muslims acknowledge the one Creator God. Catechism 846–848 teaches salvation comes through Christ and His Church, while God can save those who are invincibly ignorant of the Gospel (Romans 2:14–16; Acts 10:34–35; Luke 12:47–48).
3. The Catholic Church did not begin in the 4th century. Long before Constantine, writers such as Clement of Rome (c. 96 AD), Ignatius of Antioch (c. 107 AD), and Irenaeus (c. 180 AD) describe apostolic succession, the Eucharist as Christ’s body and blood, and a special authority of the church in Rome. Early lists of Roman bishops run from Peter to Linus, Anacletus, and Clement. Constantine legalized Christianity, he did not create it.
You are either incredibly ignorant of what you slander or you are a liar.
English

@TitusINRI @LizzieMarbach Lol do you always need to strawman another to attack them? Are you too weak to deal with the real thing?
English

@poperespecter1 Sounds like they DON’T have infallible teaching. Last I checked Christs church doesn’t flip flop on what it teaches 🤷♂️
English

After electing a lady bishop as the Archbishop of Canterbury and being super gay and progressive for years, the Church of England suddenly be like, "Actually, we are a bit conservative ourselves."

@thesolafeed I am Catholic and I condemn behavior like that among Catholics.
Christian’s should approach others with love.

I think I should convert to Roman Catholicism now!

@thesolafeed you are a stuрid bitch
English

@OpStCyprian Cool. They all read the Bible?
So which of the 50,000 different interpretations/denominations are correct?
English

Literacy rates are tied to Protestantism, especially the evangelistic kind.
Protestants want people to be able to read. Contra Catholic countries an environment of corruption subsides.
This causes the necessary conditions for economic growth. Wealth produces over generations an erosion of belief.
Christian B. Wagner 🔫🐒@WalmartThomist
Kinda funny that people forget that the Protestantism of 1900 Europe was basically the most cursed trash in the history of the Church. Inerrancy of Scripture? Nope. Historicity of Christ? Nope. Salvation from Sin? Nope. Hell? Nope. Existence of God? Maybe.
English

Thanks for promoting Catholic teaching!
CCC 971 → This devotion (to Mary) differs essentially from the adoration which is given to the incarnate Word and equally to the Father and the Holy Spirit.
Matthew 4:10 → “Then Jesus said to him, ‘Begone, Satan! For it has been written, “You shall worship the Lord your God and him only shall you serve.”’”
(Church teaching reserves true worship/adoration, called latria, for God alone. Mary receives special veneration, called hyperdulia, not worship.)
Please don’t slander and accuse of things you obviously know nothing about.
English

Don’t Worship Mary… Only Worship God.
