Omarchy 3.0 is shaping up to be spectacular! We'll have full support for almost all pre-M Macs, including T1 and T2. No manual intervention needed. Just boot and go! Here's @ryanrhughes' first successful end-to-end T2 install 🤘

@ericzakariasson How do you work with AI systems consistently without getting bogged down in fixing their output? I feel like I spend more time fixing AI output than it would take me to just implement the code myself. This seems to hold true across cursor, Claude code, codex, etc
English

been working on suggested prompts with an initial focus on predicting user intent and anticipating next steps. i’ve since found that the real value often comes from surfacing things the user wouldn’t think to do but that significantly improve their workflow, like refactoring a large file, writing tests, or running a lightweight code review
English

@ChShersh How are you learning more modern C++ mechanisms? Say things introduced in C++17 and later? Purely own time self study or does work afford you time to experiment?
English

@simpsoka Have you tried using it with offline models via ollama? I found the documentation to get it set up opaque since I had to specify an editing model to perform inline edits and a chat model to reason with.

@LylePro892440 @HackyTheSheep @sudobunni Nix lets you install multiple versions of the same programs simultaneously. Then you can create essentially like a json-like declarative file that describes how a program should run and what dependencies.

@molyvius @luciascarlet It's stock price movement. They all at one point had insane upward stock momentum. Microsoft isn't a part of that because Microsoft had pretty meh stock movement until like 2016
English

@luciascarlet Probably aggressive recruiting of devs to cover their (at the time) rapid growth and subsequently increasing needs in scale of content delivery? I've got nuthin

@Distractosphere @rakyll Carbon isn't production ready yet. It's still very much in beta.
English

@rakyll Aren’t they using Carbon? It had quite a bit of hype at one point. And if Carbon is being used and you build something with it, does that count?

@shaoruu @cursor_ai Please fix the composer output bug where it displays blank terminal output. Makes working with composer difficult sometimes when you can't see the output of the command inside of the composer view. No idea what the result of the command was and what step composer will take next.
English

what's one thing you really want added to @cursor_ai composer, or just to cursor in general? open to all kinds of ideas :)

@ZalinskyS @JohnCarltonKing Leave at almost no cost lmao. Maybe when you're 20.
English

@JohnCarltonKing Simply not true.
A renter does not have the same vested, long-term interests as a homeowner.
If a community goes downhill, the renter can pick up and leave at almost no cost. The homeowner cannot and has significant financial risk to one of their largest assets.

@firefox Implement tab grouping. 🥺 Just had to switch back to chrome at work because Firefox doesn't support tab grouping anymore.
English

@joecarlsonshow @LPoPNH You're in a bubble then. I personally know a huge number of people in tech and outside of tech that have WFH as their #1 priority in all job decisions.
English

@LPoPNH In my experience the best employees prioritize work experience, growth opportunities, importance of projects they’re working on, and compensation, I actually don’t know any where working from home is their top priority.

2020 caused a one time rare event of employees having more power than typical.
Companies were paid by the government specifically to not fire people. Employees could demand time off, work from home, and a list of other perks.
Those days are over. The labor market is weakening and companies know it. Amazon is requiring employees to come into the office every day they work.
All the predictions that Amazon is going to be ruined by this are people simply upset that the power dynamics have shifted back way from the employee to the company.

@ir0nw1lly @YungDagger808 @unusual_whales Previously it was like a promotional one off thing that they extended for a year and I guess it's successful enough to basically make it permanent now.
English

@Toasty_Muffin @YungDagger808 @unusual_whales Damm so isn't this a bit misleading. It seems now as if Prime users get free GrubHub delivery.
English

@ir0nw1lly @YungDagger808 @unusual_whales I've had GrubHub premium or plus or whatever their paid version is for the last two years through Amazon. I wouldn't have it otherwise.
English

@benhylak This has been around for a while before their most recent announcement. I used it to help with my resume building as I didn't want openai to have all that data about me. There are legit uses outside of NSFW.
