@BSmithBenS Would hardly call them "adults".. Adult (noun): An organism that has completed neurological development. This requires "synaptic pruning". Essentially a big brain clean-up where your head clears out nonsense to make room for logic and common sense..😉

When it’s 105 degrees Europeans die of heat stroke. When it’s 105 degrees Americans down a 6pack and mow the lawn shirtless. We are not the same.

@AllegedlyDrew Europeans live longer than USAians, and yes, we have air conditioning too. The difference is that Europe has largely evolved toward healthier, better-informed societies, while the United States seems to be moving in the opposite direction.

@ToemkeWTM @NXT4EU Sorry. Not a government. Not even two. Way too many. It's a miracle you're still functioning as a country. Without the EU and NATO institutions Flanders would be ours and the roads, you know... Dutch!

Belgium is set to introduce a road vignette that costs around €125 a year, making it very expensive for European citizens to sporadically visit Belgium. The goal is to make foreign drivers contribute to their roads, however this is a direct attack on European integration.

@Deliberator_83 @NXT4EU If Belgium is such a mess, why come here? Surely you can drive around it. If you choose to use our roads, paying for them is part of that choice. It's not Belgium's fault you need to drive through it. 1 or 10-day options are available too, your outrage seems a bit exaggerated.

@peterdedecker Absoluut. 90€ voor EV vs 125€ voor Euronorm 0 - 3.. Ben pro vignet, mits aanpassing wegentaks, maar hier lijkt toch wel een mooie kans verkeken.

I’m sorry, but Lindsey Graham dying out of the blue like this doesn’t make any sense at all. We have him on camera yesterday looking perfectly healthy. None of this is making any sense…

@Deliberator_83 @NXT4EU Fact: Belgian roads are in poor condition due to chronic underinvestment and insane traffic. All users should contribute to their maintenance and improvement. I'm all for it. The Netherlands, although way less transit traffic and traffic jams, could implement it too btw

@ToemkeWTM @NXT4EU But I'm not talking about France, which even its side roads (that are free, unlike the toll roads) are in much better shape than the ones in Belgium.

@Deliberator_83 @NXT4EU Maybe, but I see nothing wrong with all users paying. Heavy traffic already contributes. France is even more expensive, yet its highways are busier than a wasp's nest. I hear no complaining there

Exactly! The real losers here are the seaports, airports, and every major logistical hub that relies on smooth cross-border flow. Belgium's position as a transit corridor already strains the infrastructure; anything that slows it down hits Antwerp, Brussels Airport, and the whole supply chain. Curious though: will EU employees get an exemption, a discount, or even full reimbursement via their paychecks (funded by our taxes, of course)?
