Today marks four years since we lost Grandpa Everett Tom, and not a day goes by that we don’t miss him. In honor of his memory, we are sharing a touching video that was recorded a couple of years before he passed. It was captured by a Stephan Donley as part of a high school project, and it’s too sweet not to share, especially today His laughter, kindness, and wisdom continue to inspire us every day. We cherish the moments we had with him and hold onto the love he shared. Thank you for being with us as we remember a wonderful man who meant so much to our family and farm. 🤍

#TodayAtTomFarms Winter on the farm looks a little different. It’s 5° today, feels like -14°, so the work moves inside the shop , very thankful for a heated one. It’s cold!!! Fixing a glow plug on a pickup, freshening up the high-speed disk, and working through yearly maintenance on of the planters and a corn head. Not glamorous, but this kind of work keeps things rolling when it counts. Winter shop days are part of the process ensuring a successful planting season! Over the years, she’s been the heart of our team, from managing logistics to handling accounts payable—and everything in between. She’s done it all, all while raising three incredible daughters! Melissa’s hard work, dedication, and positive energy have made an impact on everyone here at Tom Farms, and we are forever grateful for all that she has contributed. As she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her life, we’re thrilled that Melissa will be spending more time with her beloved cattle and her grandkids. Celebrating Charlie Wappes’ Retirement! After a successful career in the classroom, Charlie took a leap into a new adventure, trading in the chalkboard for the driver’s seat, and we are so glad he did! As a retired math teacher, Charlie brought his love of numbers with him to Tom Farms. Whether he was logging every mile driven, every load hauled, or each gallon of fuel used, Charlie kept track of it all with the precision of a seasoned mathematician. We wouldn’t be surprised if he kept track of every kernel of corn he hauled over the years too! Charlie, your dedication to excellence, attention to detail, and positive attitude have been such an asset to all of us here at Tom Farms. Your contributions went far beyond the wheel, your passion for math and service will continue to inspire us! As you head into this well-deserved retirement, we know that numbers will still be close to your heart. But we’re excited for you to spend more time fishing with your family and friends, and continuing your volunteer work with the local Lions Club and Meals on Wheels, delivering meals to those in need.
