We have connected with our partners at the Sûreté du Québec to offer our support in the days ahead. Our thoughts are with both the Service and the @appq_sq, as well as the member’s family, friends, and all those impacted by this tragic incident. Their ultimate sacrifice and honourable legacy will never be forgotten.

The Toronto Police Association extends its condolences to the @PeelPolice following the sudden passing of a member. While a career in policing was just beginning, the meaningful impact made on the community and dedication to serving others will not go unnoticed. For too long our members have played catch up, as criminals have evolved online, they’ve been left with the same outdated investigative tools and governments have historically been late to amend the rules accordingly. Thankfully, Bill C-22 gets our members one step closer to acting quickly and decisively when online threats exist. The TPA was pleased to attend this afternoon’s announcement and we would encourage all parities to pass this legislation without delay.
