🥳🎉 Just launched hover.dev, an animated UI component library for React, Tailwind CSS & Framer Motion 🥳🎉 I've made frontend web dev content for ~ a year, and it has resonated with nearly 40,000 people. Crossed $1000 of revenue for my latest product 🚀 Took a little longer than expected (~3 months when we were originally delusional and thought it could happen in 1 month lol) but happy to reach the milestone. Next goal is $1000 MRR (currently around ~$450) — back to building!

@TomIsLoading just brought hover not just for the code but also to be able to create animations on my own. I hope you add even more components ,templates,layouts etc to it

I have a shmedium audience on TT (~43k), find this to be less true than for as much as you hear gurus talk about it haha (been a while since I posted more than 1 vid a day, but people have said this forever) That said, if you/anyone else wants to know anything about TikTok, happy to give me 2¢

@nicben_ I believe not, you get 1 chance per day to get 300 views and then if those 300 like it it gets amplified to eg 1,000 then 10,000 then millions If you post multiple that 300 views get spread more but I'm not an expect just from my experience

TikTok update: I hired editors who cut up my video podcasts into clips Then I upload them scheduled as once per date (optimal for TikTok) Then some take off, most don't (which is how TikTok works) So all I need to do is go on video podcasts more = more TikTok clips

I just sent out my very first email newsletter. Is it normal that it feels this scary and vulnerable? 🤯

Same goes for YouTube. Production value helps but isn't end all be all. My biggest video is just screen + camera + VS Code haha. Just make stuff that people search for to start, try to make it better than whatever's already out there, give it a while to rank (it's a lot like SEO tbh), and you'll start to see results. TikTok can pop off on day 1, YouTube almost never does (maybe shorts do? Not a big YT shorts guy). That said, at least for what I sell, I want people who are actively sitting at their computer writing code so that I can solve their problem right then and there. Ranking for specific long tail keywords on YT seems to be the best results I've gotten for that.

So it's hard to say given I haven't done the Twitter thing haha, but probably pretty similar. I'm not sure the current "meta" for twitter, but for what I do, it's all just about making useful educational content. I don't do anything "viral", my largest video is ~600k views (small for TikTok), but my averages are a lot better than most people my sizes averages (in the low 10s of thousands). I think that's helped a lot. If you see the same people coming back and liking/commenting consistently, you're probably doing something right
