you are correct: this is an example of how language is manipulated for political reasons. obviously, these underaged girls in ICE facilities did not impregnate themselves. rape is not even mentioned. instead, the girls "test positive for pregnancy" as if it has been solely their own responsibility. what an insult to common sense as well as morality.

The Luddite Movement wasn't anti-technology. It was a workers movement against the replacement of skilled laborers with machines that produced lower-quality items but could do so cheaply. The anti-tech reframing is one of the best examples of successful anti-worker propaganda

This isn't because the given drug is absolutely going to cause fetal damage, but more that pregnancy so alters a woman's biological functions that some medications will affect them differently

@AJacrossthepond It's a movie that fell victim to its own appropriated lineage. A toy powered by an AI unshackled by a suicidal factory worker is such a damning indictment of capitalism and the dangers of AI, and that movie would have been great if it hadn't been shoehorned into a Chucky plot
