@paul_devanney @AaronBower Maybe not but I don’t think you could claim his signing has been a success. I still stand by my point that Daryl Clark is the only player who has turned into a real quality signing up to now anyway.

This is now brutally obvious. I do have an element of sympathy for Welsby who has been moved around from pillar to post to accommodate some honking recruitment over the last 18 months. He played 13 last summer at one point to try make it work! Play your best fullback at fullback

@TSBYQL19 Unfortunately it’s not just ex Salford players. There are players who won us a grand final in 2019 still playing for us. Time moves on, we as a club have not and we’re paying the price for poor decisions in recruitment and retainment.

Was this a bad day? A blip? Or are we seeing that the ex-Salford contingent brought in under Rowley isn't going to be good enough?

@GAohoe @CamDonDuncan That’s if they don’t renew feldt, sailor, hastings, Lomax, Wingfield and paasi which in my opinion if we’ve got any chance they can’t be giving deals to any of them. All our marquee spaces have been used for next season already too.

@RedVeeDotNet You think it’s going to get better? Not a chance. No way we can keep handing out these 2 and 3 year deals to bang average players at best. I understand it’s a salary cap sport but no way we can compete with a squad like this one. How we are where we are currently is beyond me.

@AaronBower Honking recruitment doesn’t begin to cover it Aaron. In the last 3 years I think we’ve made one decent signing and that was Daryl Clark. In that time we’ve lost the likes of Matautia, Naiqama, Knowles, Makinson and ended up with Wright, Whitely, Shorrocks and Cross. Massive drop

Teams just target our right side. Dagnall offers a lot in attack but is clueless defensively. The only thing Feldt has on him

@Saints1890 Not one of these players looks interested today. This experiment with welsby at 6 didn’t work last season and it’s not working now. Rather have Lomax at 6 on a zimmer than this crap we keep serving up

@RedVeeDotNet Playing well? What’s the standard at this club these days if wright and whitley are ‘playing well’. Matautia must have been the best second rower in the world when he was here if that’s the case because they’re absolutely nowhere near.
