Wow! This city lies on the coast, near the western end of the fault that slipped. Either the ground deformation from the original strike-slip earthquake caused subsidence, or a secondary normal fault slipped, causing this region to drop down. Either way this is a lasting impact.

TY #Noru (formerly #KardingPH) has weakened to a Category 3 major typhoon (105 kts) in the US scale as it nears landfall in Vietnam, due to high wind shear (25-30 kts).
Since 1945, only six typhoons have made landfall in Vietnam as a Category 3+ storm. The last was Zack in 1995.
