FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Statement from Minnesota GOP Chairman Alex Plechash Plechash Calls on Sen. Amy Klobuchar, Gov. Tim Walz, and Lt. Governor Flanagan to Address Chavez Allegations or Support Repeal of State Statute Minnesota law is clear. Under Statute 10.555, Cesar Chavez Day exists to “celebrate” and “honor” a legacy and provide Minnesotans an opportunity to learn from it. But when serious allegations and questions are raised, that standard demands scrutiny—not silence. Yet Amy Klobuchar, Tim Walz, and Peggy Flanagan have chosen to say nothing. You cannot enshrine a figure in state law, promote that recognition, and then refuse to engage when legitimate concerns are brought forward. That’s not leadership, it’s selective accountability. Minnesotans deserve consistency. If Democrats believe Cesar Chavez Day should remain a state-recognized celebration under Minnesota law, they should be willing to defend it openly and address these concerns directly. If they are unwilling to do so, then they should support repealing Statute 10.555. You don’t get to celebrate in statute and stay silent in controversy. We are calling on Klobuchar, Walz, and Flanagan to: · Publicly address the allegations tied to Cesar Chavez Day events · State clearly whether they still support this state-recognized day · Support repeal of the statute if they are unwilling to defend it As a candidate for governor, Amy Klobuchar owes Minnesotans a clear and direct answer. No more avoiding tough issues. Minnesotans expect leaders who will stand up, speak clearly, and be accountable—every time. ###

Our Nation is at war. The U.S. Senate can vote to declare we are in a state of war with Iran. Our nation has experienced at least 4 terrorist attacks in our Homeland perpetrated by Muslim extremist and Iran sympathizers with in the last 2 weeks. The U.S. Senate can vote to stop the partial shutdown, and fully fund the Department of HOMELAND SECURITY. 80% of Americans support Voter ID requirements and ensuring Americans must show proof of citizenship to register to vote. The U.S. Senate can vote to pass the SAVE America Act. What an awesome responsibility and opportunity for our United States Senate. Stop the complaining about "hard" votes and hiding behind rules; do your jobs, cast your votes. Votes are not "hard", fighting a war against Iran is hard. Stopping a terrorist attack before it happens is hard.
