Why haven’t we banned Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC)? What are we waiting for? antisemitism.org/BanTheIRGC The Iranian people are trying to throw off the yoke of oppression. Parliament’s Security and Intelligence Committee says that the IRGC is planning to kill and kidnap in Britain, targeting Jews and Iranian dissidents. Before the election, the Labour Party was unequivocal. In early 2023, David Lammy told Parliament that Labour would proscribe the IRGC. Months later, Yvette Cooper reiterated that a Labour Government would apply a full ban. They rightly criticised the previous Conservative Government for not having already banned the IRGC. After the European Union recently announced that it was designating the IRGC as a terrorist group, the Home Office has now finally agreed to introduce legislation to enable it to proscribe state agencies like the IRGC, but disappointingly, will not fast-track the law. The IRGC is a paramilitary force that answers directly to Iran’s radical Islamist regime. It is responsible for violent repression inside Iran and for exporting terrorism abroad. The United States, Australia, Sweden, Saudi Arabia and others have all recognised the IRGC for what it is and banned it as a terrorist organisation. Here in the UK, arrests in London have allegedly been linked to the IRGC. An Iranian proxy was recently found to have stockpiled three tonnes of high explosives in this country. The IRGC openly threatens Jews worldwide, which means British Jews, here at home. No wonder that, according to our polling, 93% of British Jews support proscribing the IRGC. We must not delay this any longer. The UK should at least now hastily follow the rest of the free world and do the right thing by speedily banning the terrorist IRGC. Suleman admitted the offences. Company fined £8,500+ in June 2025. Still their candidate for May 2026. The Green Party … self-proclaimed champions of the environment … happily fielding a candidate whose company was guilty of illegal burning and pollution. Peak hypocrisy from the environmentalists.
