Why do the Bengalis settled in Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Hyderabad, and Bangalore take so much pleasure in bashing Kolkata and Bengal? Is this their mechanism for getting accepted by their non-Bengali colleagues and neighbours who look down on them (defensive assimilation) or coping with corporate culture where being seen as too attached to one's roots is read as parochial (performative cosmopolitanism)?

Why is the Iran War peace summit not happening in Delhi? A summit that's a defining moment in 21st century's geopolitics. 1) India is friends with Iran, America, Israel, entire GCC and Russia, and now China too. 2) India has huge interests in the region. Of all kinds. 3) India has a strong history of international leadership, right from the 1950s. 4) India has aligned with the US and done everything Trump demanded in trade terms. 5) India's stature, size and strength warrant it. So, what went wrong? Why did India lose this opportunity? Why is it absent from the game? All comments welcome.

Around 8 months ago, she had left her husband for a man she met on social media, believing his promise of a better life. However, she was sold into prostitution. After 8 months of hell, a customer finally contacted her husband, who alerted police. Hope the husband didn't take her back. Because that would be the real tragedy.
