Announcing consultation to give "Savers a legal right to require a new employer to pay pension contributions into their existing pension so they have just one pension pot" - good but admin will be tough. Really need them to speed up the pensions dashboard so if people have multiple pensions they can find and see them easily #AutumnStatement

@PepsScialacomo @MartinSLewis It's not that straight forwards, they have to declare the split EE & ER to claim tax relief on EE contributions. That's unless they are using salary sacrifice which has its own rules. Then there maintaining the persons correct details etc etc. It can get quite involved.

@paullewismoney It's a complex issue based on charges and investments. Always seek professional advise.

@paullewismoney Can you image the paperwork for a large employer trying to deal with multiple providers. It just isn't practical. Anyway, pension transfers are relatively easy.

3/3  We're making good progress with inflation down, and @Jeremy_Hunt is right to try to get money back into people's pockets in terms of raising pay, reducing workers' taxes, and uprating benefits and pensions.

1/3 The Chancellor is right today to focus on growth, including helping people into work.  He joins my consistent argument that it's economically right and morally right to include the talent and potential that could be in the UK workforce given the necessary support.

@MartinSLewis Why is the admin hard? Just add the details of your preferred pension when you join (same as bank account for salary) and have contributions made there.

@timfarron It's easier to fill the airwaves with this than admit that the government is truly awful and hold them to account.

Now we know what we know: Nat West / Coutts behaved badly towards Farage. People should not lose access to banking due to their views. Also…while I appreciate that the BBC is seeking to demonstrate its neutrality, this doesn’t deserve to be leading the news…
