My mother and 10,000 homes in Queens had their power cut because of failed green energy policies. @GovKathyHochul's response? She says climate change ranks "near the top" of her priorities. Hochul would rather put lives at risk during a heat wave than admit her radical climate policies are failing.

Chamath Palihapitiya concedes that CNBC’s Joe Kernen was “100% right” about President Trump. Palihapitiya went even further, calling Trump “very smart” and a “great president.” KERNEN: “You said I was 100% right on climate change.” PALIHAPITIYA: “You were 100% right on climate change.” KERNEN: “What about Trump?” PALIHAPITIYA: “You’re 100% right on Trump. He’s fantastic!” KERNEN: “Great person?” PALIHAPITIYA: “Unbelievable person. Very smart on top of it. Open minded. Hochul says "our power capacity is stretched to its limits". Really? Upstate NY has enough capacity to be selling almost 1 gigawatt (or almost 20-50 megawatt 'hyperscalers') to Quebec this morning.

Calling ICE Gestapo everyday is the problem Calling ICE Nazis everyday is the problem Villainizing ICE everyday is the problem Demonizing ICE everyday is the problem Harassing ICE agents everyday is the problem Slandering ICE everyday is the problem Obstructing ICE operations everyday is the problem Lying about ICE everyday is the problem Threatening ICE officers everyday is the problem The real problem isn’t ICE enforcing the law. The problem is the left’s daily war on the brave men and women who do.

NEW: Supreme Court Justice Amy Coney Barrett details the chilling threats her family has faced, revealing the terrifying moment her 12-year-old son discovered a bulletproof vest in her bedroom during the fallout of the Dobbs leak. Barrett also recounted a recent "swatting" incident at her home and receiving threatening anonymous deliveries, warning that while federal judges continue to do their jobs without fear or favor, the current threat level is "really high." "I didn't expect that performing this service was going to put me in the position of explaining to my children what a bulletproof vest was, and why I had to wear one."

ACB’s expectations were an insulated academic exercise, and her rulings reflect the same. In cases like birth right and mail-in voting reflect her ruling reflects an abstract assessment detached from real-world dangers caused. A few other justices are worse, but ACB seems like she thinks it still should be university.

When a refugee arrives in the U.S., their first months of medical coverage usually come from Refugee Medical Assistance, a federally funded program run through the national resettlement agencies. USCRI operates its version as a self-funded medical plan, with claims handled by a third-party administrator. Follow the money. USCRI's tax filings report $281,012,199 over five years to Unified Administrators, a Las Vegas company connected to the administrators of that plan, and USCRI's own newest filing describes it as FOR-PROFIT. The stated purpose of a quarter billion dollars, in full: "AGENCY PAYMENTS." Here's what the public record cannot tell you about that money. How much paid actual medical claims for refugees. How much was administrative fees. How much was margin. If those funds had gone to an actual 501(c)(3), the recipient would file its own public 990 and you could follow the dollars onward. A for-profit LLC files nothing the public can see. The trail ends there. To be clear about what we are not saying: we have no evidence any refugee was denied care, and for-profit plan administrators are legal and common. The issue is narrower and, we'd argue, worse: for five years these payments were labeled as grants to a charity, which made the arrangement look like something it wasn't, and now that the label says for-profit, there is still no public accounting of what a quarter billion dollars in a federally funded medical program actually bought. The document that would answer it exists: the subaward agreement between USCRI and its administrator, held by HHS's Office of Refugee Resettlement. That's a FOIA request away, for us or for any journalist or committee staffer reading this. USCRI's filings: EIN 13-1878704 at projects.propublica.org/nonprofits, Schedule I.

She should resign. She is a mother of young children. She obviously fears for herself and doubtless for them. She is simply too young and in the wrong stage of life for a position that requires some real nerves of steel.
Hans Mahncke@HansMahncke

A judge’s obligation is to administer justice without fear or favor. The reality is that Barrett appears to have a great deal of fear, and it strains credibility to suggest that those concerns have not affected her judicial reasoning.
