Kayleigh: My mom went to see Melania. She said the theater was packed, it was standing room only. People were cheering through it, they were excited. It was interactive—people interplaying with the film. She said it was just electric.

@aldamu_jo No - just an awful, racist prick who, if he ever got off his fat orange arse and travelled, might discover that reality is vastly different from the nonsense living in his xenophobic mind.

TRUMP: If you look at Somalia, they are taking over Minnesota. REPORTER: What do the Somalians have to do with this Afghan guy who shot the National Guard members? TRUMP: Ah, nothing. But Somalians have caused a lot of trouble. They're ripping us off. Somalia phobia

Thanks to Senator David Shoebridge for the time today to discuss the humanitarian catastrophe in our backyard, the stateless and persecuted people, the Rohingya who are trapped in Cox’s Bazar refugee camp. It’s important for all Aussies to understand what’s happening inside the world’s largest refugee camp, and the need for Australia to continue to demonstrate leadership through our international aid, education programs for girls, particularly, and providing hope through resettlement places. Sport can also be a powerful vehicle for the realisation of rights. Holding Myanmar and other perpetrators accountable is also critical, ensuring that the funding and weapons being used for the genocide of the Rohingya are stopped, and continuing to apply, if not strengthening sanctions to comply with our duties under international law.

Forget the religious rhetoric and political posturing, what is happening in Gaza is a human catastrophe brought about by the hands of others. Letters From Gaza is a book that needs to be read by everyone …

The police fired rubber bullets at Australian reporter Lauren Tomasi while she was reporting live from Los Angeles today. Appalling and unjustified.

@BBCRosAtkins It would be easy to dismiss #KarolineLeavitt as a buffoon but she’s not, she is displaying tendencies that are not only well thought out but also evil.

On Tuesday, White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt made a series of claims about the BBC's coverage of events in Gaza on Sunday. We've looked at the claims - and the number of misrepresentations and untruths that they contained.

Australia and the world was directly called to act last year to prevent genocide. It was not an opinion, but a legal ruling that firmly binds every State party to the rules agreed and commitments made. Despite countless official statements of concern, however, no action was taken. Now millions, mostly children, face famine. Despite the importance of international law to Australia, as seen in the very welcome ruling on MH17, which may finally deliver some measure of closure and justice to many Australian families, we have not found the will to extend this law to others. To our lasting shame. This photo of a child looking at her former self is deeply haunting. Australia has spent far more time policing words and phrases and impugning anyone who expresses opposition to genocide, including an Indigenous AFL footballer just last week, than undertaking our legal duty. Athletes and their governing bodies, as bound by the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGP’s) have a duty to uphold basic human rights. The AFL should have made clear that every player is entitled to stand against genocide, wherever and whenever it has been found to be occurring, or at risk of occurring. Further, hundreds of athletes and their families have been killed and every athlete should stand in solidarity with their brothers and sisters around the world, wherever their rights are violated. The additional matter of an Indigenous sport leader being lectured and policed on genocide, is another thing entirely. The world needs to act in every way possible to end the violence, forced starvation and ethnic cleansing, free all hostages and political prisoners, impose UN resolutions, hold all parties accountable and chart a path to peace through international law and justice for all. The only appropriate way to respect and protect all Australian communities equally, is to apply ourselves consistently as a member of the international community. And Australia should always, proudly, hold firm to the commitments we have made. Just as we rely on those commitments from others.

Honoured to have been a finalist in the 2025 Newspress Australia Awards, where Australia’s motoring media is recognised for excellence in journalism, imagery, and storytelling. To have made it to the top 3 in the Custom Publication Of The Year is something we’re very proud of.
