@1dad2lads @Top100Rick FYI the Cricket Club was lined with trees for a century. Big, beautiful, majestic trees. They cut them all down in 2013 and ‘14. Completely different course now.

People who defend trees on course have never played well designed courses that use bunkers, green contours and pin positions to make golfers choose the correct angle of approach. Philly Cricket is a great example of this. Out of position rarely mean behind a tree. It means wrong side of the fairway or in the rough.

@Top100Rick I hate this argument. When Ross developed Aronimink it was a farmer’s pasture land. Same thing at Philly Cricket. There were no trees because dairy cows had been grazing there forever. Selective pruning to help the turf and greens, fine. Clear cutting was a travesty IMO.
