To the women who are on this app, be honest Are you OKAY with a man claiming to be a woman using the ladies room if you're in there? 🤷🤔

@linmeitalks We are on an over 45’s site, no children allowed in an old park home, having already helped our kids, I suspect majority of people have done likewise

Wow some of these boomers are so selfish and rude it’s disgusting. I thought they were the generation of manners and respect. Yes, unless you regularly look after your grandchildren I do expect you to sell a large house which you no longer need as it will: 1. Help your own children/grandchildren get on the ladder 2. Free up a house for a family who could really use it as we have a shortage of large house due flat builds 3. Free up all that equity for you to live on and enjoy. As boomers get older many will mostly use downstairs as stair usage gets harder anyway.

@linmeitalks Are you for real you expect pensioners to sell the home they have lived in all their lives brought up their children in you are truly a despicable entitled brat

There are boomers sitting in large houses who don’t even want to free up equity or sell their house to help their own children get on the ladder. This is the level of selfishness we are dealing with. Thank god for parents like my mother She would sell her house in Tottenham tomorrow if it meant helping me…. And I would do anything to make her life comfortable- that’s what family is about. An eco system of giving. These days many boomers don’t want to help with grandchildren or finacial assistance and children don’t want to help their parents - so much selfishness between recent generations and it will get worse.

@EssKayFlex @canadiancarol1 I don’t generalise young people as I have 3 children each different, each have their own strengths and weaknesses 😊 we’ve helped them at different times, they all work

@TriggSheena @canadiancarol1 I meant it more as a general "you", in the same way older people call ALL young people lazy and ALL young people entitled. The view is that the boomer gen ruined any opportunity we had before we were even born, so if you're part of that generation there'll be some resentment.

The anger against pensioners on here is enlightening .... envy, jealousy and greed with no perception as to who will pay for their old age - because it is all about the NOW and entitlement.

@redrumlisa We have helped our 2 sons after their divorces and our daughter when she needed us. We had to rebuild after our divorces too, we are strong, been together for 35 years, you can’t explain this to some.

Having watched this platform pour out some of the most vicious bile about 1 group of people. I've seen terrible racism on this platform but nothing like the vicious misinformation about older people. This is both those who think they are left & right they arent they are all just neo-liberals in varying degrees screaming for the neo-liberalism that did this to us. I fear for us all when Hitler youth both Green & Blue get the reins

@BenedictSpence @StewartD58588 We’ve downsized 3 times, helped kids, no inheritance from parents, their money went on care home fees, won’t be able to leave any money our children or grandchildren, hubby over 70 still working, paying tax, I work. Go on push assisted dying and maybe I won’t get pension 😏

@StewartD58588 You work, you buy a house, you have a family, and then you sell it and downsize when you don’t need it an once its value has gone up to realise the returns on your investment. What’s controversial about that?

@Stan2415loveu No one is suggesting pensions wouldn’t increase. But the current triple lock method is very flawed and needs replaced. A simple inflation link is sensible.

The increase in the state pension just about covers all the bills going u p in April--so when you are on a basic pension with no private pension you need the triple lock..if its stopped completely =then slowly more and more will enter into complete poverty..but that is ok right?

@TriggSheena @redartisan04 @HeatherBo63 I do blame politicians, but like you said, NI wasn’t invested, it was always used to pay pensions of the currently retired. The system doesn’t work, so it needs changed. It’s not pensioners fault they’ve been screwed over too, but unfortunately it has to change.

off of here for a few days. Idiotic conversations about pensions. What? Shall we all just vanish to make it easier on the selfish assholes who feel the earth revolves around them? I wonder if there are similar disrespectful conversations going on in other countries where a state pension is provided. Probably not. It’s only this country where people have zero respect for anyone.

Government pensions are a scam. Younger workers are paying more and more to fund a system that is mathematically impossible to sustain. Would you scrap the triple lock?

@ReemAmirIbrahim We're all squabbling over this, which is what politicians love, but nobody is going after them for creating this massive Ponzi scheme. I don't believe there should be a state pension. Why is it the job of government to provide a universal retirement fund?

@TriggSheena @HemleyJenn79783 @StephanProwell @HeatherBo63 I do blame politicians for the many failures in this country. I also blame politicians for their failure in courage to reform the triple lock. It’s not affordable and needs reforming, that’s not blaming pensioners it’s being realistic about what needs to happen.
