Trump & Melania coin killed sentiment and it never recovered.

Nearly half of US data centers planned for this year are expected to be delayed or canceled. Not a capital availability or chip problem. It's transformers and electrical equipment. Lead times have gone from 24 months to five years. The big four are spending $650B+ in 2026 alone but can't actually source the gear domestically. So we must buy from China. Ironic that the country the US has to beat in AI is also the country supplying the parts to build it.

Viktor Orbán gets a get-out-the-vote endorsement post from Donald Trump. In recent days, various news organizations have revealed new evidence that Orbán has repeatedly acted in the interests of Russia and against the interests of the United States.

The reporting on OpenAI and Sam Altman that I've been working on for the past year and a half, for @NewYorker, with @andrewmarantz: newyorker.com/magazine/2026/…

Background: Orbán is an entrenched but wildly unpopular oligarch and authoritarian. He is facing an election that he will decisively lose — unless he can manage some trick. This obvious false flag (which he will now blame on Ukraine) should not fool anyone. It should only remind us that other people in similar situations (I mean Trump) will have similar thoughts. See my essay from yesterday on "The Next Coup Attempt."

FERC Term of the Week! “Load Growth”: An increase in demand for electricity. This can happen gradually – due to population growth or new businesses – or more rapidly when large facilities, such as data centers, come online.

Orbán has backing from both Washington and Moscow - which can be a curse more than cure. Everyday realities hit harder,Russian links are becoming toxic, and Europe is playing hardball. My latest in @guardian on the geopolitics of the Hungarian elections. theguardian.com/commentisfree/…

Russia has launched a campaign entitled “We are with Iran” or “Russia for Iran”

I'm calling it. AGI is already here – it's just not evenly distributed yet.
